About the Role:
As a CBRE Assistant Project Manager, you will provide support to project management operations, administration, and management for projects from start through completion. This job is part of the Project Management function. They are responsible for the management of projects from initiation through completion.
What you'll do:
Project Coordination & Support
- Assist the Senior Project Manager with day-to-day project administration, action tracking, and stakeholder updates across concurrent projects.
- Prepare project artifacts (charters, scopes, schedules, risk registers, change logs, RFI logs, submittals, closeout packages).
- Coordinate meetings, agendas, site walks, and minutes; follow up on actions until closure.
- Support capital planning cycles by gathering requirements, estimating preliminary costs, and preparing business cases.
Scope, Schedule, and Budget Management
- Help develop and maintain project plans, work breakdown structures, and look-ahead plans.
- Track budget vs. actuals, process purchase orders, assist with vendor invoices, and support monthly cost reporting and forecasting.
- Assist with change management (scope, cost, schedule) and maintain accurate documentation and approvals.
MEP / Technical Support
- Coordinate MEP trades and vendors; track submittals, drawings, commissioning plans, and O&M manuals.
- Support site coordination for shutdowns, tie-ins, and phased work, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Assist with commissioning, testing & balancing (TAB), deficiency lists, and turnover documentation.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Support QA/QC inspections and corrective actions.
- Promote a safety-first culture; ensure adherence to client/site-specific safety policies.
- Assist with permit coordination, adherence to building codes, fire/life safety, and environmental requirements.
- Maintain project records in accordance with company and client standards.
Procurement & Vendor Management
- Assist with RFQs/RFPs, bid leveling, recommendation memos, and contract administration.
- Coordinate vendor onboarding, insurance/compliance documentation, and performance tracking.
- Liaise with client, general contractors, and specialty trades.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
- Draft status updates, dashboards, and progress reports for the Senior PM to review and issue.
- Support stakeholder engagement (operations, security, IT, compliance, finance) and manage day-to-day queries.
- Help coordinate phasing/occupancy, moves/adds/changes, and end-user communications.
Closeout & Handover
- Collect warranties, closeout documents, as-builts, training records, and commissioning reports.
- Ensure CMMS data updates, asset tagging, and preventive maintenance inputs are completed.
- Facilitate lessons learned and post-project reviews.
What you'll need:
- Diploma or degree in Construction/Project Management, Building/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Architectural Technology, Facilities Management, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience supporting construction or facilities projects (MEP/renovation/capital projects preferred).
- Experience in a facilities management or owner’s rep environment is an asset.
- Certified in, or working towards PMP (asset)
- Proficiency with MS Project (or Primavera), Excel (advanced), PowerPoint, and SharePoint/Teams.
- Familiarity with CMMS (e.g., Maximo, MRI Angus) and basic AutoCAD review/markup.
- Comfortable reading drawings/specs, coordinating submittals, and tracking RFIs.
- Strong documentation control and versioning discipline.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The salary range for this role is between $70,000 to $75,000 annually. The compensation provided to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience.
