About the Role:

Safety. Compliance. Impact.  CBRE is hiring a Hazardous Material Handling Maintenance Technician who keeps operations moving safely for a major global leader campus in Santa Rosa, CA.

Build a stable, impactful career at CBRE supporting hazardous material inspections, waste collection, labeling, lab sampling and shipment preparation.  From satellite container pickups to inspections and lab sampling, this role puts you at the center of CBRE’s hazardous materials operations.

This job is part of the Material Handling job function. They are responsible for the incoming and outgoing movement and storage of raw materials, finished products and parts.

What You’ll Do:
  • Assist with technical and safety training.
  • Participate in and support efficiency improvement Kaizen activities for the site and network when needed.
  • Adhere to department business plans and budgets.
  • Keep all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance.
  • Identify and locate the right products during the delivery process.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems.
  • Check the functionality of safety systems.
  • Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
  • Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.
  • Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
What You’ll Need:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
  • Basic math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.

The minimum salary for the Union Operating Engineer position is $24 per hour and the maximum salary is $30 per hour. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
