Senior Corporate Accountant, CBRE Investment Management LLC

The Role:

As a Senior Corporate Accountant, reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, you will be integral to ensuring the financial integrity and operational excellence of our corporate advisor entities. You'll play a crucial role in our monthly close processes, financial reporting, and compliance activities, operating in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Financial Reporting & General Ledger Management: Execute the comprehensive monthly close process for corporate advisor entities. Prepare and record accurate journal entries in PeopleSoft for cash, revenue, accounts receivable, operating expenses, intercompany transactions, co-investment capital, foreign currency, and compensation.
  • Reconciliation & Analysis: Prepare and meticulously review general ledger account reconciliations with supporting workpapers, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Intercompany Management: Oversee the reporting, confirmation, and invoicing of intercompany activities between US and non-US entities.
  • Billing & Cash Application: Manage client billing processes, including recording issued invoices and applying client cash receipts from daily bank statements.
  • Co-investment Reporting: Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of consolidated fund reporting and CBRE co-investment reporting.
  • Compliance & Audit Support: Maintain strict adherence to SOX requirements for processes, workflows, and controls. Provide essential support for annual audits and tax return preparation.
  • Expense Management: Prepare and maintain vendor-level expense databases for actual results.

What You'll Need:

  • Education: A Bachelor of Art or Science degree, preferably in Accounting.
  • Experience: 3-7 years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or corporate accounting.
  • Accounting Expertise: Strong foundational knowledge of accounting concepts, trial balances, financial statements, and consolidations.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions like pivot tables.
  • Analytical Acumen: Effective problem-solving, troubleshooting, and quality assurance skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Organizational Prowess: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities under pressure, meeting deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Bonus Points (Preferred, but not required):
    • Knowledge of investment accounting (equities) concepts and investment funds (mutual funds and private co-mingled funds).
    • General understanding of foreign currency transactions and related FX gain/loss impact.

CBRE Investment Management carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $100,000 annually and the maximum salary for the position is $105,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates may also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
