About the role

This is a great opportunity to provide facilities regional engineering support of Research Labs & maintenance support to an innovative Life Sciences/ Pharmaceutical facility in San Diego, California.

Travel no more than 10% to the San Francisco, CA area.

What you’ll do

  • Coordinate & communicate building system outages for preventative maintenance
  • Complete annual capital needs assessment based on knowledge of building systems
  • Complete annual Asset Inventory Count
  • Provide oversight of both building equipment & preventative maintenance tasks ensuring reliability
  • Participate in all Health, Safety & Environmental objectives as directed
  • Ownership of CAD drawings for buildings – drawing system is in process of being developed
  • Use Organizational Change System to detail critical system changes
  • Coordinate small scale projects with scientists as requested
  • Benchmark & present new facilities technology as feasible for consideration
  • Attend Capital Project meetings related to your buildings and provide technical mentorship
  • Build and modify preventative maintenance procedures as needed
  • Ensure new building assets are set up in the CMMS system and coordinated into the building management system.
  • Buildings Systems include, but not limited to:
  • Air handlers, exhaust fans, fume hoods & bio hoods
  • Safety showers & eye washes
  • Vacuum systems
  • Steam PRV’s & condensate recovery systems
  • Potable water pumps
  • Chilled water and heating hot water
  • Electrical sub-stations
  • Sanitary & storm sewers
  • Fire protection
  • General infrastructure (exterior included).

What you’ll need

Bachelors or equivalent experience in Engineering required (prefer Mechanical Engineering but open to other degrees as well) and a minimum of three years in Facilities environment.

Demonstrated experience and knowledge of building systems, maintenance, and utilities. Demonstrated strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees, clients, and management.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training and experience. The compensation range is about $135,000 to $145,000 annual base salary with some potential flexibility based on experience. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience.
