About the Role

As a CBRE FM Engineering Operations Manager, you will serve as a technical leader and operational authority, guiding a high‑performing engineering team that supports a major telecommunications client’s mission‑critical infrastructure. This role is central to ensuring building systems, equipment, and engineering operations perform with maximum reliability, safety, and uptime.

This position is part of CBRE’s Engineering & Technical Services function, responsible for delivering preventative maintenance, responsive repairs, and operational excellence across complex facilities environments. You will combine deep technical oversight with people leadership, business acumen, and client partnership to ensure seamless service delivery.

In this role, you’ll act as a trusted technical advisor, balancing hands‑on problem solving with strategic planning, team development, and financial accountability. This opportunity is ideal for a technical operations leader who thrives in fast‑paced, highly regulated environments and is motivated by building strong teams while protecting critical infrastructure.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and supervise engineering and technical staff, providing clear direction, coaching, and accountability to drive performance, safety, and reliability.
  • Recruit, train, develop, and evaluate employees, building a technically skilled, customer‑focused team prepared to support mission‑critical operations.
  • Oversee daily engineering operations, including scheduling work, assigning priorities, managing coverage, and cross‑training staff to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the telecommunications client, building strong partnerships and ensuring engineering services align with client expectations.
  • Provide technical oversight of building systems and equipment, ensuring preventive maintenance and repair activities are completed to standard and on schedule.
  • Manage departmental or portfolio financial performance, supporting P&L objectives, controlling costs, and driving operational efficiency.
  • Establish operational goals and performance metrics aligned with CBRE standards, client service levels, and long‑term infrastructure reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company policies, maintaining accurate documentation and audit‑ready records.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical and operational issues, minimizing risk and downtime in critical environments.
  • Continuously evaluate processes and drive improvements, leveraging technical expertise and operational insight to enhance service delivery.
  • Model CBRE RISE values and influence cross‑functional teams and stakeholders to achieve shared technical and operational objectives.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 3–5 years of experience in facilities management, engineering operations, or a closely related technical field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering, maintenance, or technical teams, including training, coaching, performance management, and workforce planning.
  • Strong technical and operational judgment with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership capabilities that positively impact safety, reliability, efficiency, and service quality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to use data to support operational and financial decisions.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset.
  • Strong analytical and math skills, including the ability to interpret operational data and financial metrics.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
