About the Role:

The Facilities & Grounds Supervisor is responsible for the comprehensive maintenance, aesthetic integrity, and operational functionality, a Veterinary Pharmaceutical facility, in Winslow, ME. This role provides critical leadership to the internal maintenance team and manages external contractors to ensure the Facility structural systems, interior spaces and finishes, and surrounding grounds exceed client specifications

What You’ll Do:

Interior Fit & Finish: Oversee the upkeep of all internal building elements, ensuring high-quality finishes, paint, flooring, and general interior aesthetics.

Building Shell Integrity: Manage the maintenance and repair of the building's exterior, including the roof, windows, doors, and walls to ensure structural integrity and weatherproofing.

Waste Management: Coordinate the efficient transfer of garbage and recycling to the compactor and manage overall site cleanliness.

Landscaping & Grounds: Supervise all landscaping activities to maintain professional and welcoming curb appeal.

Snow & Ice Management: Lead snow removal operations to ensure safe access for employees and visitors during winter weather events.

Daily Oversight: Direct the internal team’s daily activities, ensuring tasks are completed safely and to standard.

Coaching & Mentorship: Actively coach team members to develop in-depth knowledge and technical expertise across all functional areas of the physical plant.

Performance Management: Manage workload distribution, set clear deadlines, and oversee day-to-day performance.

Contractor Oversight: Serve as the primary point of contact for external vendors, ensuring work is performed according to contract specifications and safety protocols.

Planning & Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule complex maintenance activities to minimize disruption to business operations.

Priority Alignment: Collaborate with site leadership to resolve conflicting priorities and ensure facility resources are aligned with business needs.

Workload Management: Plan and oversee long-term maintenance schedules and immediate reactive needs.

What You’ll Need:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 5-8 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Prior shift leader or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • The innovative mentality to develop methods that go beyond existing solutions.
  • Ability to solve unique problems using standard and innovative solutions having a broad impact on the business.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Expert organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Highly sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate somewhat complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
