About the role
The Systems Engineer provides consulting services for our accounts to help achieve the company's strategic business objectives. Projects consist of AV hardware upgrades for corporate offices and conference rooms nationally. The Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and integrating information systems to fit within existing audio-visual systems infrastructure.
This job is part of the System Engineering job function responsible for successfully executing and monitoring AV projects from initiation through completion. The Systems Engineer will assist with the technology implementation for clients including AV, telephony, sound masking, low voltage WLAN, DAS systems, desktop, physical security, and date networks. Role may require up to 25% overnight travel throughout the US.
What you’ll do
Troubleshoot and resolve system service failures by identifying and analyzing the situation and provides corrective actions.
Develop, install, and test new network hardware and software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve software related problems.
Monitors systems activities and fine tunes system parameters and configuration to optimize performance and ensure security of systems.
Provides expertise on decisions and priorities regarding systems architecture.
Engages with application development teams on current AV and IT infrastructure projects.
Facilitates the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions including architecting and implementation solutions.
Manages and maintains the hardware, software, security, and connectivity to the Internet.
Supports all the various web applications and related systems such as search engines and web servers and middleware components.
Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence) values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
What You’ll Need
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Bachelor's Degree preferred with 2-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered
- General knowledge of leases, contracts and construction practices and the ability to read architectural drawings
- Audio Visual hardware installation and IT construction projects with occupied office spaces
- Understanding in the areas of network setup/design, voice/data cabling, telephony, wireless, audiovisual, security access and monitoring, and sound masking
- Experience in software engineering and design architecture using Bluebeam Revu and AutoCAD required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and MS Project
- Technical certifications in the specialty area such as CISCO or Microsoft
- Interpersonal skills with an advanced inquisitive and entrepreneurial mentality
