Senior Counsel - Labor & Employment APAC
Key role specialising in employment law matters for Australia and wider APAC

Global Labor and Employment Legal team is a trusted legal partner to the People Business Partners and the business in navigating sensitive and wide-ranging issues from employment agreement terms, hiring and recruiting issues, discipline, investigations, working hours, leaves of absence, workplace adjustments, terminations etc.
What you'll do
- Advise on, draft, maintain and review templates and policies and provide training.
- Ensure that policies and procedures across APAC are compliant, consistent, user friendly and accessible by all staff.
- Identify and address employment legal risks within APAC, including emerging legal risks to the business, and make recommendations for change as required.
- Assist in reporting APAC employment litigation to Global Litigation Team.
- Act as the employment law subject matter expert for all Trust and Compliance matters, working with the Trust and Compliance team (globally and across APAC) to advise on investigations and co-ordinate training where necessary.
- Provide employment law specialist expertise as and when required on any larger corporate programmes, bids or acquisitions.
- Build the necessary processes, systems, and documentation to improve legal department processes and resources in APAC.
What you'll need
- Australian-qualified solicitor with at least 5 years' PQE in employment law, preferably including in-house experience.
- Preferred but not required: Singapore Bar admission or experience in advising on Singaporean employment law matters and/or across multiple APAC jurisdictions.
- LLB or equivalent law degree and current admission to practise in an Australian jurisdiction.
- Experience of working within a matrix organisation desirable.
