Company Profile

CBRE Project Management and Turner & Townsend officially joined forces at the beginning of 2025. Together, we now represent the world’s only fully integrated, global offering for building consultancy, design, program, project, and cost management.

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a skilled and forward-thinking Quantity Surveyor to join our on‑account team supporting one of our largest pharmaceutical clients. You will play a key role in delivering full-spectrum cost management across their diverse real estate portfolio. We welcome applicants based in either Dublin or London.

For our next Cost Consultancy hire, we are specifically looking for an individual who can develop pre‑construction cost estimates (including rough‑order-of‑magnitude assessments) where scope may still be conceptual or not fully defined. The ability to think creatively and approach cost modelling with an innovative mindset will be essential. This capability enables our Project Managers and client teams to shape strong business cases and convert early concepts into viable, fully realized projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of cost management for individual real estate projects throughout planning, design, construction, occupancy, and closeout.
  • Assess initial project scope and client objectives to prepare, communicate, and justify recommended budgets for pre‑bid and pre‑construction estimating and cost planning services.
  • Collaborate closely with project teams to procure, manage, and quality‑check all pre‑bid and pre‑construction inputs required for accurate budget and cost plan development.
  • Partner with clients and Project Managers to ensure all work is properly funded in accordance with internal governance and financial controls.
  • Ensure contracts reflect required language to comply with lease obligations and to appropriately capture landlord contributions.
  • Review, analyze, and report on all bid submissions to the client, including recommendations on allowances, contingencies, and project reserves.
  • Align cost plans with master project schedules and define strategies for managing cash flow, accruals, and progress reporting.
  • Apply advanced professional expertise to deliver creative and effective solutions for complex challenges.
  • Share knowledge broadly, mentor team members, and role‑model behaviors that reflect CBRE’s RISE values.
  • Influence decision‑making across project teams and related functions through strong communication and collaboration.
  • Communicate complex or sensitive information clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with 3+ years of relevant experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Strong judgement and the ability to analyze varied information sources to inform decision‑making.
  • A willingness to challenge convention and bring fresh perspectives to existing processes.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Exceptional organizational abilities paired with a naturally inquisitive, analytical mindset.
  • Strong mathematical competency, including comfort with percentages, fractions, and moderately complex financial calculations.

Disclaimer

Effective 1 January 2025, CBRE Project Management and Turner & Townsend were consolidated into a single global business entity. Candidates should be aware that although initial employment may be with CBRE GWS, a transfer directly to Turner & Townsend will occur at a later determined date.
