About the role
Provide formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Efficiently recommend same for subordinates to next level management for review and approval. Plan and supervise appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including outside of normal business hours. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentor and coach team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and acts in a way that are consistent with the company's values.
What you’ll do - You would Coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors, tenant finish personnel and technicians. Oversight of all building systems including fire/life safety, plumbing, HVAC and electrical issues and must remain current with the latest HVAC technology trends.
- Maintain ongoing communication with tenants, clients, owners, facility management team and vendors.
- May assist in solicitation and acquisition of new management, maintenance/repair service contracts. Coordinates development and maintenance of as-built drawings.
- Respond to all emergency situations quickly (fire, evacuation, equipment failure etc.) and customer concerns.
- Implement and coordinate inventory control programs/purchase parts and supplies.
- Establish and oversee programs to ensure compliance with applicable codes, requisitions, government agency and company directives as relates to building operations.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
*DC 3rd License preferred**
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and eight or more years experience in electrical systems, refrigeration and/or HVAC. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
Universal CFC certification required. Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles and to understand operating budgets. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and/or commissions. Conducts basic financial analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
Uses personal computer and / or PDA for work order system, email, ESS and training. Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook. Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Decisions made with thorough knowledge of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Asst. Chief Building Engineer position is $100,000 annually [or $48.08 per hour] and the maximum salary for the position is $105000 annually [$50.48 hourly]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
