About the Role: As an ELIS Technical Services Supervisor, you will lead a team of dedicated technicians responsible for the maintenance, calibration, and repair of a wide array of laboratory equipment and instrumentation. This role is crucial for ensuring the operational excellence and compliance of our Enterprise Lab Instrumentation Services. You will guide your team through critical projects, ensuring high standards of technical service delivery in a dynamic lab environment.
What You'll Do:
Oversee the successful execution of technical service projects and programs for laboratory instrumentation from initiation to completion.
Facilitate the development of service charters and integrated timelines for lab equipment maintenance and upgrade projects.
Ensure the lab equipment service team consistently meets deadlines and resolves escalated technical issues related to instrumentation promptly and effectively.
Manage internal and external vendor relationships specific to lab equipment, proactively identifying new vendors, negotiating pricing, and approving contracts for specialized parts and services.
Collaborate with core teams to develop innovative solutions for complex lab instrumentation challenges and manage project teams throughout the service delivery lifecycle.
Create, maintain, and distribute routine performance reports and present them to management and clients, highlighting key metrics in lab equipment service.
Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles, techniques, and procedures for laboratory equipment maintenance and calibration to accomplish complex assignments and drive innovative service solutions.
Coach and mentor lab equipment service technicians, sharing in-depth knowledge of lab instrumentation disciplines and a broad understanding of various technical services within the function.
Lead by example, modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values, fostering consensus, and building strong collaborative relationships within the ELIS team.
Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within the ELIS team and other related scientific and operational teams.
Work within broad guidelines and policies specific to lab environments and technical service operations.
Explain complex technical or sensitive information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, including scientists, vendors, and management.
What You'll Need:
High School Diploma or Bsc diploma in a technical/scientific area with 4-5 years of job-related experience in technical equipment services, preferably within a laboratory or scientific environment. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Prior shift manager or supervisory experience in a technical or lab services role is preferred.
Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads, often associated with lab equipment.
Ability to exercise sound judgment based on the evaluation of multiple sources of information and technical data specific to lab instrumentation.
Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions and processes for lab equipment service.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, for reporting and data analysis in a technical services context.
Strong organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset, crucial for managing a diverse range of lab equipment and technical projects.
The role will be based onsite in Beerse.
