About the Role
As a CBRE Union Mobile Route Engineer, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance and corrective repairs across multiple facilities supporting a major telecommunications client’s critical retail and infrastructure sites. This is a mobile role, and CBRE provides a company-issued service van, tools, equipment, and technology needed to be successful.
This role is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function, which supports the reliable operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems and equipment to ensure facilities meet operational, safety, and client standards. Work is governed by the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
What You’ll Do
- Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, structural, fire/life safety, control systems, and general building components across multiple sites.
- Review assigned work orders, estimate labor and materials, complete repairs efficiently, and maintain accurate documentation.
- Support and execute preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and lifecycle performance.
- Inspect building systems including HVAC, fire alarms, and plumbing to ensure systems operate within design specifications and client environmental requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, safety standards, and company directives.
- Operate a company-issued vehicle safely while executing daily route-based responsibilities.
- Apply technical knowledge, standard procedures, and sound judgment to solve routine to moderately complex maintenance issues.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, vendors, and client representatives.
- Model behaviors aligned with CBRE RISE values and positively impact team performance and service delivery.
What You’ll Need
- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3–4 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Driver’s License required.
- Universal CFC (EPA) Certification required.
- Experience supporting HVAC and building systems in a commercial or critical environment.
- Ability to meet physical requirements including standing, walking, climbing ladders/stairs, stooping, and lifting/carrying 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to use a computer, tablet, or mobile device for work orders, email, training, and documentation.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to analyze problems and apply technical experience to determine appropriate solutions.
Pre‑Employment Requirements
The selected candidate must successfully pass all CBRE pre‑employment requirements, including:
- Criminal background check
- Employment verification
- Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
- Drug screen
- Physical ability testing
Additional Information
This position is governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Should any element of this job description conflict with the provisions of the applicable CBA, the terms and conditions of the CBA will prevail.
