About the Role:

As a CBRE HVAC Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment for complex Industrial HVAC systems by conducting proactive performance testing and performing scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance. This position operates on an 8 hour shift schedule, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and supports continuous facility operations. This team will operate on a Monday-Friday schedule.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function and is responsible for providing technical support, preventive maintenance, and repair services for building equipment and systems in support of client operations.

What You’ll Do:

  • Install, repair, adjust, service and maintain electric or pneumatic control systems used for building heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems and equipment, including calibration of related instruments, gauges, and control components.
  • Inspect and conduct ongoing maintenance on building HVAC equipment to ensure proper operation of equipment and compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and work safety.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and identify the best course of action for equipment modifications.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain steam systems, chilled water systems, heating hot water systems, electrical distribution systems, and various building control systems.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
  • Impact a range of customer, operational, project or service activities within own team and other related teams.
  • Work within broad guidelines and policies.
  • Explain difficult or sensitive information.
  • Support HVAC systems serving GMP, cleanroom, and controlled environments, including pressure cascades, temperature, humidity.
  • Perform and document work in accordance with GMP, SOPs, and site quality standards, including accurate and timely completion of maintenance records, logbooks, and work orders.
  • Support audits and inspections by regulatory agencies and internal quality groups by providing technical input, documentation, and system knowledge.
  • Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Operations teams to assess corrective actions related to HVAC systems.
  • Utilize Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) to monitor system performance, troubleshoot alarms, and optimize system operation.
  • Ensure proper operation and maintenance of HEPA filtration systems, air handling units, and exhaust systems supporting regulated spaces.
  • Follow established lockout/tagout, safety, and contamination control procedures while working in controlled areas.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support operational reliability, regulatory compliance, and client objectives.
What You’ll Need:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Prior shift manager or supervisory experience preferred.
  • EPA Universal HVAC certification and QEW (Qualified Electrical Work) with knowledge of NFPA 70E and other electrical regulations.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs, and the ability to carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
  • Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
