Forward Deployed Engineer (AI & Data Transformation)


About the role
Forward Deployed Engineer is a hybrid role combining engineering, product thinking, and stakeholder management, focused on delivering AI-powered solutions in real business environments.
The role is structured as approximately 20% hands-on technical work (development, data, architecture) and 80% stakeholder engagement, problem definition, and delivery ownership.
You will work directly with business teams to identify problems, define solutions, and deliver production-ready applications integrated into day-to-day operations.
This is not a pure software engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or research-focused role. It is best suited to someone who is commercially minded, highly structured, comfortable with ambiguity, and confident working with both senior business stakeholders and technical teams.

What You’ll Do
  • Own end-to-end delivery of AI-driven solutions from problem definition to deployment
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand workflows, challenges, and opportunities
  • Translate ambiguous business needs into structured technical solutions
  • Design and oversee development of applications, data pipelines, and integrations
  • Lead workshops, align stakeholders, and drive decision-making
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and adopted by end users
  • Collaborate across technical and non-technical teams to deliver measurable outcomes
  • Shape business cases for AI adoption, evaluate vendor offerings, and make build-vs-buy recommendations
  • Present recommendations to senior stakeholders and validate solution directions through rapid prototyping and demos

What You’ll Need
Must Have
  • Proven experience delivering end-to-end solutions in production environments
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex business problems into technical solutions
  • Experience working in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
  • Solid technical background in software, data, or AI (hands-on experience required)
  • Experience working directly with business users (e.g. consulting, product, embedded roles)
  • Ownership mindset with focus on outcomes rather than tasks
Nice to Have
  • Programming experience in Python, SQL, and/or TypeScript
  • Experience with data pipelines, system integrations, and enterprise platforms
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude or similar)
  • Experience with platforms such as Palantir Foundry
  • Background in real estate, finance, or operations-heavy environments
  • Experience in AI/ML or advanced analytics
  • Exposure to UI/UX design for operational tools
Additional Information
Role split: ~20% technical / ~80% stakeholder and delivery work
Travel: approximately 25–30% depending on project needs
