Global Risk Management Director, Property Management


Location: UK Hybrid (Henrietta House, London & Home Working)
Business Line: Property Management
Reports to: Global Head of HSE & Risk Management, Property Management


Role Purpose 
We are seeking an adaptable, business orientated Risk Management Director to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping, enhancing, and integrating the Property Management global risk management strategy in accordance with company standards.
This role will serve as a key ambassador in the implementation and execution of the Property Management first line of defence risk policy, frameworks, and culture. Collaborating directly with senior leadership, Market Leaders and global functional heads within Property Management, and the broader CBRE Enterprise Risk Management team, this role will guide the organization toward a mature, proactive, and deeply embedded risk culture.


Key Responsibilities 
  • Deliver and execute the global Property Management risk strategy, ensuring alignment with line of business objectives, company and client requirements, and recognized global standards (ISO 31000).
  • Implement and evolve the Property Management risk framework, policies, standards, processes, and controls across, markets and business functions. 
  • Engage with local leadership to support the delivery of market level risk programmes to promote a hybrid top-down, bottom-up approach to risk management.
  • Champion a unified, Property Management wide risk culture by educating leaders and driving consistent operational risk practices.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the global Property Management leadership team and present to Global Property Management Risk Committee and other senior leadership forums.
  • Facilitate the annual Property Management risk assessment process with functional and regional leaders. Liaise with Global Enterprise Risk Management to align with companywide risk assessment requirements.
  • Own the global Property Management Risk Register, building dynamic dashboards and analytics for senior leadership.
  • Partner with business leaders, and functional leaders to build predictive Key Risk Indicators (KRI’s) and early-warning indicators aligning with the company and line of business risk appetite.
  • Aggregate market and regional risks to line of business and segment level for senior leadership reporting.
  • Support risk owners in the preparation and management of Mitigation Action Plans.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver comprehensive training programs and educational materials to key stakeholders, ensuring effective understanding of risk management across Property Management globally.
  • Advise on major initiatives including New Venture Risk Assessments (NVRA’s) and other large-scale project-based activities. 
  • Collaborate with CBRE Compliance teams to ensure systems, processes, and controls meet regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement toward higher levels of risk maturity and operational consistency across Property Management markets and regions globally. 
  • Identify and escalate gaps in policy adoption and control design to senior leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall goals of the Global HSE and Risk team.

Person Specification/Requirements
  • Degree qualified preferred with relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Proven ability to integrate first line of defence risk management frameworks in diverse business environments.
  • Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems.
  • Advanced organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure with a proactive approach to routine and non-routine occurrences. 
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), Risk Management software (e.g., ServiceNow, AuditBoard) and data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBi).
  • Ability to deliver effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, and senior leadership.
