ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Boiler Operator with a specialized focus on high-pressure boiler systems and power generation equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end operation, real-time monitoring, and expert troubleshooting of boilers, ensuring optimal performance through precise startup, shutdown, and control adjustments. 

You will leverage a strong background in industrial maintenance, hydraulics, and HVAC/R to conduct comprehensive inspections and repairs on boilers, pumps, and valves. This role is critical to maintaining the safety and efficiency of our thermal systems through proactive mechanical oversight and rigorous operational standards.

This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function and is responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.

  • Must be flexible to work day and night shift on a rotating weekly schedule (12 hour)
  • Must live within designated radius of the job site to reliably work schedule/shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Lead the startup, shutdown, and real-time control adjustments of industrial boiler systems to ensure peak performance.
  • Conduct rigorous inspections and complex troubleshooting of boilers and related mechanical gear to prevent downtime.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to high-pressure boiler systems, HVAC/R, hydraulics, and power generation equipment.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to boiler auxiliary systems, including pumps, valves, and mechanical control interfaces.
  • Keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards as assigned.
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
  • Maintain an energy management program. 
  • Ensure all systems operate in the most efficient manner.
  • Assist with the implementation of a preventive maintenance program to ensure that building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life. Perform emergency repairs as needed.
  • Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials. 
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
  • Review inspection to building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
  • Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES  
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. 

Perform general preventive maintenance and corrective repair:

  • Industrial Boilers, Hydraulics, and Power Generation Equipment
  • Commercial and Industrial HVAC/R
  • Chillers, Cooling Towers, Compressors, Pumps, and General Facility

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) 
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience as an Industrial Utilities and/or Boiler Operator (Building Engineer) or job-related experience.
  • Industrial Boiler Expertise: Proven background as an industrial mechanic specifically focused on the operation and maintenance of high-pressure boiler system with an industrial scale much larger than the typical commercial or office building. 
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with HVAC/R, hydraulics, and power generation equipment within an industrial setting.
  • Mechanical Knowledge: Strong understanding of boiler auxiliary systems, including pumps, valves, and mechanical control interfaces.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES  
Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES 
Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset. 
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
