About the Role:
As a CBRE Union ICT Service Delivery Technician, you will provide essential on-site support for ICT and Engineering services within the Data Center environment. This role is crucial for maintaining the operational integrity and efficiency of critical client environments.
What You’ll Do:
Perform installation, relocation, configuration, and decommissioning of IT hardware including servers, storage devices, switches, racks, structured cabling, and related infrastructure, ensuring work meets data center industry standards.
Conduct routine monitoring, inspection, and troubleshooting of both IT systems (servers, network gear, connectivity paths) and critical facility systems such as power availability, cooling conditions, and physical environmental metrics to maintain stable operations.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, network, connectivity, and performance issues by performing hands-on troubleshooting, part replacements, visual inspections, and targeted testing across IT, electrical, and mechanical components.
Assist with mechanical and electrical support tasks, including checking rack power distribution, verifying cooling airflow, monitoring power/cooling conditions, and reporting anomalies in HVAC, electrical panels, or UPS-backed IT circuits to ensure equipment remains within safe operating thresholds.
Respond to break/fix incidents and service tickets promptly, escalating when necessary, and execute standard recovery activities such as server reboots, hardware swaps, patching/dispatching, and basic power/cooling troubleshooting.
Support physical infrastructure tasks, including cable routing, labeling, termination, and ensuring structured cabling and power paths align with best practices for reliability and airflow management.
Maintain accurate documentation and update SOPs, change logs, and asset records, ensuring all IT and facility-related actions are tracked in accordance with operational and compliance requirements.
Assist with backup procedures, disaster recovery equipment readiness, and physical security measures, ensuring the protection of critical systems and controlled access to sensitive areas.
Collaborate with both IT and facilities engineering teams, ensuring integrated operations across compute, network, power, and cooling systems—reflecting the converged nature of modern data center technician roles.
Escort third-party vendors and engineers, ensuring their adherence to site policies and verifying work quality involving both IT and mechanical/electrical infrastructure.
Ensure safe working conditions by following established procedures, hazard awareness practices, and environmental, electrical, and equipment-handling guidelines.
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies, recommending enhancements to IT and facility workflows, and maintaining a high standard of housekeeping within technical spaces.
What You’ll Need:
High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered
Valid driver's license required
Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more
Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work Communication skills to exchange straight forward information
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset
