About the role
The Project Manager is responsible for providing consulting services to our life sciences client account to help achieve the company's strategic business objectives. Focus on mechanical and utilities projects applied to industrial pharmaceutical facility systems including chilled water, compressed air, HVAC, steam, and system controls.
This job is part of the Project Management function and responsible for the management of projects from initiation through completion. Role offers a 3/2 hybrid schedule but may require an onsite presence up to 5 days/week in Zebulon, NC.
What you’ll do
Manage all areas of project management for commercial real estate projects. This includes planning, design, construction, commissioning / validation of GxP systems and facilities, and closeout.
Interact directly with clients to prepare all elements of the project, including the scope of work, project delivery resource requirements, cost estimates & budget, work plan schedule & landmarks, quality control, and risk identification.
Define the project delivery resources from pre-qualified lists or through the project qualification process. Conduct a standard request for proposals, complete bid evaluations, and recommend resources to clients.
Implement project documentation governance that is aligned with company and client requirements.
Ensure project data integrity and documentation is accurate, timely, and coordinated.
Direct the project team by providing mentorship and direction to achieve goals.
Build action plans to meet objectives, budget, and schedule. Track the progress of each project and report status and variances.
Demonstrate ability to identify project threats and develop risk mitigation and contingency plans. Implement plans to reduce or eliminate project risks.
Mentor others and share in-depth knowledge of your job subject area and broad understanding of several job fields within the function.
Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence) values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.
What you’ll need
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred with 5-8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. LEED AP, PMP, and/or CCM designation(s) preferred.
- General knowledge of leases, contracts and construction practices and the ability to read architectural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project). SAP CMMS experience is a plus.
- Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information with a willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
- Interpersonal skills with an advanced inquisitive mentality.
- Strong written and verbal communication, organization, and persuasion skills along all levels of project delivery.
