As a Sr Manager Software Engineering, you will be a pivotal leader, driving the AI & Data transformation journey for CBRE's Valuations & Advisory Services (VAS). What You'll Do: 

As the Sr Manager Software Engineering, you will be instrumental in contributing to the future of CBRE's Valuations & Advisory Services (VAS) through technological innovation & transformation. Your key responsibilities will include:

Strategic Leadership & AI Transformation: As an Engineering leader, provide thought leadership to drive the AI transformation journey for the VAS business, integrating cutting-edge AI/ML, Data, and predictive analytics to revolutionize services and solidify industry leadership in Commercial Real Estate (CRE).
Global Team Leadership & Development: Build, lead, and manage a multidisciplinary, globally distributed team across the US, UK, and India. This includes formal supervision, monitoring training and development, conducting performance evaluations and coaching, and overseeing recruiting and hiring. Serve as an inspiring role model, motivating and developing teams to achieve their full potential.
Process Improvement: and significantly improve existing methods, processes, and standards within the job discipline.
Values-Driven Leadership: Lead by example, modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values. Persuade and influence managers and colleagues, aligning actions with functional business plans.
Critical Thinking: Identify and solve multi-dimensional, complex, operational, and organizational problems, leveraging internal and external resources.

To excel in this transformative role, you will need a unique blend of critical thinking, technical prowess, and leadership capabilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Masters Degree preferred.
  • Minimum 6+ years experience in:
    • software or data engineering. 
    • full‑stack enterprise application development using Java technologies.
    • hands‑on experience with the Spring Framework (Core Spring, Spring REST, Spring Boot).
    • working with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
    • architecting and building RESTful APIs or microservices.
  • 3+ years of people leadership experience.
  • Proven ability to architect highly resilient, cyber-secure, and cost‑effective enterprise platforms aligned with modern engineering standards.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including various algorithms, statistical modeling, deep learning (e.g., neural networks, reinforcement learning), Generative AI, and LLMs.
  • Minimum 8+ years experience in:
    • designing and implementing cloud‑native architectures on AWS (serverless, containerized, and event‑driven systems).
    • public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
    • building or managing large‑scale data consumption, data management, or data‑governance platforms.
    • leading multi-functional data engineering and/or full‑stack teams.
    • programming experience with Python, Java, or .NET.
    • Agile project management tools such as JIRA, VersionOne, ADO, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins).
  • Experience with application monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk and Datadog, as well as NoSQL databases like DynamoDB.
