Are you ready to act as the vital link between procurement and internal partners, enabling early engagement and aligning Responsible Procurement priorities with business objectives?
The Responsible Procurement Senior Manager works in CBRE’s Responsible Procurement department, part of the Group Procurement function. This team manages CBRE’s procurement, supplier engagement and supplier development actions relative to environmental and social impacts for both internal operations and global service delivery. The department implements CBRE’s Responsible Procurement strategy across corporate and client-specific procurement actions, promoting responsible business practices among suppliers.
This role involves acquiring, compiling, and reviewing supply chain data enabling CBRE’s procurement activities; requiring strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills. The focus is on ensuring accurate and consistent supplier environmental and social sustainability information and sharing CBRE’s Responsible Procurement programs with stakeholders. The Senior Manager works across all CBRE segments, directed by the VP Responsible Procurement or Responsible Procurement Directors, and contributes to CBRE’s responsible business and net zero strategies.
What you will be doing:
- Develop and strengthen positive relationships with stakeholders across the region, acting as a regional single point of contact which ensures a simple and efficient experience with the Responsible Procurement team.
- Design responses to information requests from internal stakeholders contributing to Client RFPs and providing consistent messaging about Responsible Procurement capabilities.
- Make recommendations and decisions based on CBRE procedures, company policies, and business practices.
- Develop and manage the quality of stakeholder relationships
- Develop, oversee and manage Responsible Procurement program, project, stakeholder, and supplier value drivers and deadlines.
- Support the development of value drivers of Responsible Procurement programs relative to environmental and social positive impacts.
- Lead internal and external international meetings and events, communicating goals and outcomes of Responsible Procurement programs.
- Ensure timely stakeholder information reporting, including overseeing data quality.
- Coordinate stakeholder mapping and ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Leverage procurement processes to engage internal and external stakeholders to acquire relevant environmental and social sustainability Key Performance Indicators from suppliers.
- Improve processes with stakeholders to refine documentation and data for improved client output reporting and supplier collaboration where needed.
- Support the implementation of CBRE’s Responsible Procurement programs across functions, segments, and geographies in collaboration with internal stakeholders across the global procurement and sustainability communities.
- Inform the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for efficient procurement processes. Monitor Responsible Procurement business metrics, recommending and implementing improvements for the benefit of stakeholders.
- Support the management of commercial relationships with third-parties providing specialist procurement & environmental and social sustainability Key Performance Indicators from suppliers
- Support the design and management of supplier engagement campaigns for supplier responses to ESG data requests, such as environmental and social sustainability assessments.
- Where relevant, act as a Content Owner and Super User for specialized Responsible Procurement software, resolving issues and maintaining system integrity. Provide and improve training and reference materials.
- Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive Responsible Procurement team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you will need:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 5+ years of relevant experience in global supply chains. Equivalent experience and education considered.
- Preferred certifications: CPSM / CPM, CIPS, or NACM.
- Leadership skills to influence stakeholders and enhance Responsible Procurement programs.
- Ability to handle complex information, convey simple expectations, and efficiently resolve problems.
- Strong organizational skills and inquisitive mindset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and experience in harnessing AI solutions.
- Advanced math skills for financial calculations.
- Optional: Experience in staffing, training, development, and performance management.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills, sensitive to non-native speakers.
- Optional: German, Dutch, Portuguese, or Italian communication skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Ability to provide efficient, reliable, and courteous service.
- Ability to influence suppliers and uncover key operational information to support sustainability goals.
- Effective data presentation and relationship-building across suppliers, departments, and geographies.
- Knowledge of procurement, sourcing, contracting, and supply chain principles.
- Ability to analyze complex procurement and supply chain information and key performance indicators.
- Preferred knowledge of international procurement sustainability standards like ISO20400.
- Optional: EcoVadis Practitioner certificate (or equivalent), GHG Protocol Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard certificate, GRI professional certification.
- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents and data sets.
- Ability to suggest problem resolutions involving multiple options.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Advanced spreadsheet skills, including graphics, pivot tables, and preferred experience with macros and database management.
- Ability to work remotely, self-motivate, report progress, and communicate effectively within a global team.
- Preferred experience with Smartsheets and data visualization.
Hybrid work arrangement with at least 50% presence in the local office.
