About the Role

Ever wondered who keeps the lights on (and the cool air flowing) in the places where the internet actually lives? That's where you come in! As a CBRE Data Center Technician, you're the ultimate guardian of the physical facilities that house the digital world. You won't just be "fixing things"; you'll be the hands-on expert ensuring our critical infrastructure – from power grids and cooling systems to the very walls themselves – is always operating flawlessly. You'll be on the front lines, tackling preventative maintenance and jumping into action for corrective repairs, all to keep our client's vital data centers running like perfectly oiled machines, 24/7. This role is a core part of our Critical and Technical Services team, where we're all about delivering top-notch physical plant maintenance in highly sensitive, high-stakes environments.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct daily site inspections of all Mechanical & Engineering systems and technical equipment, including performing servicing and maintenance tasks.
  • Monitor and respond to Building Management System (BMS) alarms, promptly addressing and completing emergency repairs as needed.
  • Ensure that site environmental conditions consistently provide a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Collaborate with third-party vendors, ensuring all activities adhere to company processes, procedures, and relevant laws and regulations.
  • Alert management to any subcontractor performance issues that do not meet Master Service Agreement requirements.
  • Execute planned preventative maintenance (PM) and reactive maintenance on a diverse range of equipment.
  • Perform regular building walkthroughs, accurately taking meter readings from UPS, PDUs, and utilities.
  • Diagnose and resolve facility and plant faults and defects.
  • Complete all assigned work according to established processes and procedures, upholding all safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Conduct routine quality checks to ensure comprehensive maintenance records are maintained.
  • Actively participate in all required training to ensure proficiency in job-related responsibilities.
 


What You’ll Need:
  • Training in a Technical discipline having served an apprenticeship or equivalent with 1-2 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Ability to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays
  • Must be able to Meet the physical requirements of this role.
  • To effectively present information to an internal department, client, management and/or colleagues.
  • Ability to follow basic work routines and standards in the application of work.
  • Communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Basic math skills. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups.
