About the Role
As a CBRE Valuation Associate, you will be responsible for preparing market value appraisals and consulting reports on real estate assets.
What You’ll Do
- Conduct extensive research and appraisal support tasks such as preparing analysis on relevant market sales and lease transactions.
- Conduct research and collect data from both internal databases and third-party sources with respect to market rental rates, market sales and lease transactions, development applications and general market knowledge.
- Maintenance of internal database systems.
- Conduct interviews with market participants to stay appraised on current trends and developments in the local marketplace.
- Prepare written market value reports with substantial analytical guidance from a senior appraiser.
- Perform property inspections (including the occasional out-of-town assignment).
- Have some knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience in applying them.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values.
- Impact the quality of own work.
- Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
- Exchange straightforward information, ask questions, and check for understanding.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor's Degree preferred with up to 2 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
- If Candidate is not already a member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada, then they will be expected to join
- Familiarity with cashflows and/or Argus Enterprise are an asset.
- Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard problems.
- Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
- Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
- Valid class 5 drivers’ license with a reliable mode of transportation.
