At CBRE, our people are our greatest asset, and this leadership role is a critical enabler of our growth in Japan.

As the Talent Acquisition Manager, you will lead a small but high-impact team and take ownership of recruitment strategy and delivery across all job levels. You’ll partner closely with business leaders (local and overseas), People Partners, and regional Talent Acquisition colleagues to build a proactive, high-performing recruitment function that reflects the unique dynamics of the Japan market.

You’ll also play a key role in driving direct sourcing strategies, improving operational efficiency, and creating a best-in-class candidate and hiring manager experience.

Why This Role Matters
This is more than a recruitment role—it’s a chance to shape how we hire in Japan. You’ll be empowered to build a function that enables our recruiters to focus on what matters most: engaging talent and delivering value to the business. In a people-based business like CBRE, your leadership will directly impact our ability to grow, innovate, and serve our clients.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Japan TA team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with business leaders and People Partners to understand hiring needs and translate them into effective sourcing strategies.
  • Champion direct sourcing by identifying creative and localized approaches to attract top talent in a competitive market.
  • Design and implement scalable recruitment processes that reduce administrative burden and improve speed, quality, and consistency.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, providing market insights, talent intelligence, and strategic recommendations.
  • Support recruitment for senior and niche roles, ensuring alignment with business priorities and timelines.
  • Drive key initiatives such as diversity hiring, internal mobility, and employer branding in partnership with regional teams.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and internal policies.
  • Model CBRE’s RISE values—Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence—in all interactions.

What You’ll Need

  • 6–8 years of in-house Talent Acquisition experience, ideally within a multinational or matrixed environment.
  • Proven experience managing or mentoring a recruitment team.
  • Deep understanding of the Japan talent market, including sourcing trends, candidate behavior, and cultural nuances.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills in both Japanese and English.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with applicant tracking systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and an analytical approach to problem-solving.
