About The Role:
At CBRE, our mission is to deliver world-class real estate solutions that drive business success. As an Electrician within our Engineering & Technical Services team, you will play a critical role in maintaining a premier, Class-A commercial office environment in downtown Boston.
This position is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and installing electrical systems and related infrastructure throughout a 1.1 million square foot, 36-story high-profile asset. You will respond to tenant and operational needs with professionalism and urgency, exemplifying CBRE's RISE values -Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence -in every interaction.
What You'll Do:
- Deliver Safe & Reliable Operations
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical and lighting systems.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain:
- Electrical distribution systems and lighting controls
- Sub-metering systems
- AC/DC motors, VFDs, motor starters, and HVAC/R controls
- Switches, gauges, floats, wiring, conduit, valves, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, and related infrastructure
- Operate and support fire alarm systems, including impairments, resets, overrides, and restoration of devices.
- Ensure all systems operate safely and in compliance with NFPA 70 and NFPA 70E standards.
- Review maintenance records to develop proactive inspection, testing, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Maintain accurate documentation within work order and CMMS systems.
- Establish and manage inventory of critical spare parts.
- Coordinate and oversee outside contractors, verifying quality and code-compliant installations.
- Assist the Chief Engineer and Lead Mechanic in troubleshooting and mentoring team members.
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines to support mechanical and operational systems.
- Lead by example, modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE's RISE values.
- Contribute to a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement.
- Communicate complex technical information clearly and professionally.
- Provide reliable, customer-focused service in a high-profile commercial setting.
- Participate in on-call rotations, overtime, and shift coverage as needed.
What You'll Need
- Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician License (license number required at application)
- Valid Driver's License
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma, GED, or Trade School Diploma
- Minimum 3 years of licensed electrical experience in commercial or institutional facilities
- Completion of a formal apprenticeship program preferred
Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems and building infrastructure
- Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (BAS), control sequences, and graphical interfaces
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation
- Proficiency with:
- PLCs and HMls
- Work order systems and electronic timekeeping platforms
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Mobile devices and communication tools
- Ability to perform electrical calculations involving voltage, amperage, resistance, kWh, power factor, and percentage-based formulas

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The salary for the Lead Electrician position is $115,000 per year. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
