SUMMARY

The HVAC Technician-R is responsible for the provision of building operations, maintenance and repairs in assigned facilities. This job works on a wide variety of assigned tasks under the direction of the Maintenance Team Leader.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Carry out the day-to-day execution of operations and maintenance programs to ensure uninterrupted tenant operations and that asset
integrity is maintained either directly or via building automation systems
2. Trouble shoot, analyse and determine the root cause of equipment and building problems
3. To perform corrective maintenance and repairs within scope of key trade designation
4. Respond to service request and demand maintenance; record data and ensure completed work meets quality and response
requirements
5. Develop and implement preventative maintenance (PM) programs to increase efficiency of building operations
6. Receive, track, monitor and report status of maintenance and repair work. Initiates documents to authorize or obtain formal approval
of work required
7. Ensure compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, health and
safety, and fire protection
8. Be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby and emergency call-out as required
9. Represent CBRE/AFSI in enhancing tenant and customer satisfaction and maintaining positive relations
10. Oversees and maintains all assigned tools and arranges for the calibration/inspection/repair and replacement where required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

“The successful candidate will be required to attain and maintain a valid and active RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance (ERSC). Please note, a condition for attaining an Enhanced Reliability Security (ERS) clearance includes the condition that applicants must have lived in Canada a minimum of five years to apply for ERS.”

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
1. Requires minimum three (3) to five (5) years experience as certified / Journeyman Refrigeration Technician
2. Self-motivated, willing to learn
3. Work well independently and be a team player
4. Consistently present and maintain a positive and professional image
5. Good writing and verbal communication skills
6. Excellent interpersonal relationship skills
7. Awareness of Environment, Health & Safety requirements

LICENSES AND/OR PROFESSIONAL ACCREDITATION
1. Must possess HVAC –R Red Seal certification and minimum Gasfitter B certification
2. Must meet site and/or position specific security clearance requirements imposed by the client for an
assigned location and/or region
3. Valid drivers’ license (as required)

SUPERVISION/DIRECTION EXERCISED
1. The position is not responsible for providing direct supervision.
2. Provide escort, support, monitoring and review Vendor performed work.

1. May operate a Company issued vehicle in alignment with CBRE/AFSI and/or any other applicable Policies
and procedures
2. Operate and maintain equipment and use of tools in alignment with CBRE/AFSI and/or any other applicable Policies and procedures
3. All applicable IT assets to be used in alignment with CBRE/AFSI and/or any other applicable Policies and procedures

This is a unionized role with the BCGEU governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement. This is a 35 hour per week position and the rate of pay for this role is 45.79$/hour. This position is eligible for participation in the Public Service Pension Plan and Extended Health and Dental benefits after 6 months of service.
