Job Summary
The Investment Analyst serves as an essential member of CBRE Toronto’s National Investment Team, actively contributing to the team’s success through diligent effort, thoughtful intelligence, and unwavering integrity. The Investment Analyst will conduct real estate and market analyses and assist with the preparation of financial models, pitch presentations and marketing materials. Responsibilities include preparing financial models to evaluate various types of real estate investments, conduct research and assist with the preparation of presentations, analyze financial data, review and interpret lease documentation, and summarize economic and real estate market trends.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare financial models for various asset types (with a focus on multifamily residential) using in-house spreadsheet model templates.
- Analyze property financials, rent rolls, AGIs, utilities, budgets, and capital expenses using Excel.
- Review third party reports and identify key factors impacting the properties analyzed.
- Research demographic, locational, and market information for proposals and marketing materials.
- Interact with sales representatives with respect to underwriting and marketing matters.
- Respond promptly to requests for information and analytical support from team members and clients.
- Assist with special ad-hoc projects, presentations, and initiatives assigned.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty at the highest level of diligence. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from a four-year college or university preferably in real estate, finance, business, or accounting; CA, CFA, MBA, AACI would be an asset.
- 1-2 years relevant industry work experience preferred.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Solid grounding in financial concepts, corporate finance, and valuation is required.
- Excellent conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills to solve real estate issues and identify value-added opportunities.
- Understanding of CMHC financing is an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers.
- Ability to effectively present information in written and verbal form to team members and clients.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The salary range being offered for this position is between $75,000 and $83,000 annually. The compensation that is provided to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
