About The Role:

As a CBRE Payroll Tax Supervisor, you will oversee a team of tax analysts involved in day-to-day, monthly, quarterly and year-end tax operations for multiple EINs in a multi-state environment ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local tax jurisdictions. This role should be well versed in payroll and have a solid background and experience in payroll tax.  

What You'll Do:

  • Operate as the subject matter expert and escalation point to resolve issues. Continuously look for improvements in operational processes and designs and implement those initiatives.
  • Coach and mentor team members and implement workable solutions to business issues and problems with minimum referral to management.
  • Conduct work planning, estimation, and prioritization to improve team performance. Work with Sr Payroll Tax Manager to define standards and goals.
  • Train team members in new or enhanced operation procedures and policies. Confirm team members have the necessary skills and performance attributes, in line with business and personal development needs.
  • Monitor workloads, evaluates direct reports, and may review the evaluations and development plans of others.
  • Implement quality control measures and identify process improvements.
  • Monitor ADP SmartCompliance open items including but not limited to rejected filings, new jurisdiction setups & account numbers, tax notices to ensure timely resolutions.  
  • Supervise and coordinate year-end processing partnering with payroll and other teams.
  • Assist with system development activities and participate in testing activities.
  • Resolve complex problems and identify appropriate approaches to existing solutions to accomplish team objectives.
  • May establish new techniques to ensure the team is able to meet its objectives.
  • Have a direct impact on the team objectives as well as the objectives of related teams.
  • Ensure personal and team outcomes have a positive impact on customer objectives.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Guide team through the application of basic knowledge of practices and procedures. Work to build consensus.
  • Assist with tax audits, mergers and acquisitions
  • Prepare, remit, and file returns not supported by ADP Tax Services

  • High School Diploma or GED with 3 to 5 years of job-related US & Puerto Rico tax experience.
  • Prior supervisory experience required. 
  • In-depth understanding of a range of processes, procedures, systems, and concepts within own job function and extensive knowledge of related job functions required.
  • The ability to explain complex concepts or sensitive information.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with ADP SmartCompliance
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, Pivot tables & V-Lookup.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a master-level inquisitive mindset.
  • Experience with Canada tax filings,, payments, T-4s & RL-1s.
  • FPC or CPP, a plus.
