Acting as both a cultural ambassador and service leader, this role is responsible for bringing the space to life through engaging, inclusive, and thoughtfully executed programming.  This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about community-building, placemaking, and live events – someone who enjoys both planning behind the scenes and being hands-on in a dynamic, public-facing environment.

The role is onsite in Chicago, IL USA.

What You’ll Do:

Program Development & Execution
  • Execute a pre-established seasonal programming calendar in your first season
  • In future seasons, design and evolve programming based on community feedback, attendance data, and observed trends
  • Deliver a diverse mix of events including cultural programming, live performances, fitness classes, markets, workshops, and seasonal activations

Event Planning & Operations
  • Plan and manage event logistics from concept through execution and breakdown
  • Coordinate vendors, develop site layouts, create signage, and manage event budgets
  • Lead onsite event operations, ensuring smooth execution and troubleshooting issues in real time

Marketing & Content Collaboration
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to support event promotion across digital and community channels
  • Capture onsite content (photo/video) for social media and future marketing use

Community Engagement
  • Build relationships with park visitors, building tenants, local businesses, and community organizations
  • Act as a liaison to gather feedback and incorporate insights into future programming

Park and Asset Management
  • Oversee inventory and upkeep of park assets including furniture, AV equipment, games, tents, and signage
  • Conduct routine checks and coordinate repairs or replacements as needed

Performance Tracking and Reporting
  • Track attendance, engagement, and participant feedback
  • Analyze program performance and recommend improvements
  • Prepare reports for stakeholders demonstrating the impact and value of park programming

Sponsorships & Brand Activations
  • Support the Meeting & Events Manager in pursuing revenue generating opportunities
  • Coordinate logistics and onsite needs for sponsored events and activations
  • Assist in ensuring all sponsorship elements are delivered in alignment with agreements and brand standards

What Success Looks Like:
  • Taking ownership of the park as both a space and an experience
  • Well-executed, high-quality events that run smoothly from start to finish
  • Increasing attendance and repeat engagement across seasons
  • Strong relationships with building tenants, community, and vendors

  • Comfort working outdoors and assisting with physical event setup when needed
  • Ability to coordinate multiple vendors and manage your budget
  • Experience supporting sponsorship revenue initiatives and/or social media marketing efforts a plus

Schedule & Work Environment:
  • This is a seasonal position with a variable schedule. During peak season, hours will adjust to support evening and weekend events; during the planning season, schedules are generally aligned with standard business hours.
