Senior Surveyor/Associate Director/Director - International Valuations (Loan Advisory)


This position is full time, permanent with hybrid working based at Henrietta House, London. 


Role Purpose

This role, up to Director (SS/AD/D will be considered),  is within the London Based International Valuation team, who manage cross-border valuation assignments. Primary responsibilities will include the close liaison with London based Banks and Lending clients alongside our network of CBRE offices across the EMEA region,  in the delivery  of  consistent, best practice and market leading outputs. 

You should be able to critically review and interrogate valuations and reports, applying a strong understanding around valuations, with a focus on proficiency with  DCF methodology, ,Argus Enterprise and Excel based models.  Having additional technical skills beyond real estate valuation including advanced excel modelling or analytics, an understanding and ability to use Microsoft 365 Products (such as Power BI, Power Apps and SharePoint), in addition to Artificial Intelligence applications (i.e. Copilot) would be advantageous.  From time to time, you may be required to travel across the EMEA region, where required and on more complex assignments, work directly on preparing valuations/reporting with oversight and support from senior and in country colleagues. The individual will also collaborate with other members of the wider UK based valuation team in London and our remote valuation support colleagues in Hyderabad to ensure high quality valuations are delivered to clients and to drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, delegate and support in the management of European Cross-Border Valuation assignments, including project management, valuation interrogation and reporting reviews. 
  • Develop positive working relationships with valuation colleagues across the CBRE EMEA network, leveraging them to the benefit of clients, live projects or initiatives. 
  • Conduct, coordinate and review valuation and advisory work, for loan security & accounting/fund reporting.
  • Deliver clear and informative assessments of valuations or market performance to clients, including in person presentations. 
  • From time to time, attend physical property inspections (across UK and in EMEA) and assist senior team members with more complex inspections.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Hyderabad and London Valuation team on the valuation process and undertake quality control of their work.
  • Manage opportunity records from inception, to execution and completion. 
  • Conduct assessment relating to technical aspects of property due diligence, review and communicate changes to valuation data and asset performance within a market context.
  • Select and / or analyse appropriate market evidence, undertake analysis of property or portfolio performance, and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Perform and interrogate valuation modelling (including DCF modelling), calculations and analysis, supporting  senior or specialist valuers on more complex valuations as required.
  • Close liaison with clients, ensuring high quality advice is consistently delivered. 
  • Preparation & review of valuation reports.
  • Assist with revenue recognition and provide necessary paperwork.
  • Lead or support senior members of the team with business development, RFPs and pitch activities.

  • Ensure QRM compliance to the latest best practice, CBRE and RICS standards.
  • Identify areas of improvement and innovative solutions to our deliverables, processes and approach to valuations. 
  • Gather and share relevant market intelligence or research.  
  • Take ownership of specific tasks of initiatives assigned by the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Support with training and mentoring more junior members of the team to develop their skills.
  • Work flexibly across sectors and services within the Division and support other Divisions as and when required. 


Person Specification/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Real Estate, Surveying, or a related field.
  • MRICS qualified or equivalent, with relevant post qualified experience
  • Knowledge of property valuation methodologies and techniques
  • Proficiency in using valuation software and tools, such as Argus Enterprise & Developer and Excel.
  • Proficiency in reporting and data analytical tools to drive operational efficiency and reduce potential data transposition errors.
  • Ability to use other Microsoft tools such as Powerpoint and Power BI would be beneficial.
  • An understanding of how Artificial Intelligence can support operational, administrative and innovative tasks within the Surveying industry.
  • Good understanding of property market trends and factors influencing property values
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards in property valuation
  • Willingness to learn and develop professional skills
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team and support senior valuers, but also able to operate autonomously in an efficient and productive manner.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling the development of good relationships with both clients and colleagues
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, multi-task and meet deadlines 
  • Enjoys working under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment. 
  • Language skills would be advantageous.
  • Valid driving licence.
