About the Role:
As a CBRE Environment, Health and Safety Manager (EHS), you will be responsible for overseeing a portfolio of laboratories, supporting Lab, Facilities Management, and Engineering teams with a primary focus on safe, compliant, and efficient lab operations. This role serves as a key liaison with the client’s EHS organization and ensures consistent alignment with client standards and applicable regulatory safety requirements across all assigned labs.
You will be accountable for the review, approval, and support of MOPs requiring EHS authorization, partnering closely with operational teams to identify, assess, and mitigate risk across the lab portfolio. You will collaborate with site and regional operations to support Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Permit-Required Confined Space activities, and other safety-critical work, proactively identifying hazards and implementing effective, scalable controls.

What You'll Do:
- Promote a proactive EHS culture across a portfolio of U.S.-based laboratory sites, influencing stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant operations.
- Develop, implement, and refine EHS policies, playbooks, and procedures, including incident reporting, asset risk analysis, training, waste management, and inspection programs.

- Manage regulatory, legal, and client-specific compliance initiatives across assigned sites, partnering with management to develop sustainable solutions.
- Review and approve EHS-required MOPs collaborating with operations to assess risk and implement preventative controls.
- Track operational and safety risks; analyze injury, illness, and incident data to identify trends and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to internal and client stakeholders—communicating risks, findings, deficiencies, and capabilities while managing expectations and operational limitations.
- Identify and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex EHS issues, including those not clearly addressed by existing systems or processes.
- Model behaviors aligned with CBRE RISE values and apply strong EHS expertise to effectively integrate with lab operations, engineering, and facilities teams.
What You’ll Need:

- site experience strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and NIH regulatory requirements as they apply to laboratory and technical environments.
- Proven expertise in laboratory safety programs, occupational safety, industrial hygiene, chemical hygiene, hazardous materials management, contractor safety, and compliant waste handling and disposal.
- Experience conducting laboratory and facility audits, performing risk assessments, and driving corrective action planning through completion.
- critical activities.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to serve as a trusted advisor in complex or sensitive situations and reinforce a strong safety culture.
- Proven ability to influence others and improve quality, compliance, and operational effectiveness without direct authority.
- Experience implementing or managing digital EHS systems for incident reporting, compliance tracking, and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and related tools.
- Professional certifications as required by local, state, or federal regulatory authorities.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
