About the role

The Senior Project Manager provides consulting services based out of our New York City office is focused on project delivery for a single client.  This role is 100% field based. The Senior Project Manager will work with a small team to lead a ground-up construction project for a state-of-the-art critical infrastructure facility on Long Island. 

The role requires constant collaboration with the CBRE / Turner and Townsend team, the construction management team, the design team, various external subject matter experts, the client leadership team and numerous internal stakeholders, all while helping to oversee day to day activities on an active construction site.

As a member of the NYC Project Management function you are responsible for supporting all aspects of project delivery from project inception through project completion and closeout.  The ideal candidate shall also bring some level of expertise to the team in one or more areas such as: civil, IT, AV, architecture, MEP, safety, cost management and/or scheduling.

What you’ll do

  • Execute in all areas of project management for a single large project with a project budget well over $100M. This includes planning, design, construction, occupancy, review of contract documents, change orders, submittal reviews, permit and inspection coordination, project acceptance and closeout.
  • Work closely with all key stakeholders to deliver all elements of the project. This includes all aspects of construction, project resource requirements, cost estimates & budgets, work plan schedules, permitting & AHJ coordination, quality control, and risk identification.
  • Define the project delivery resources from pre-qualified lists or through the project qualification process. Develop and manage complex requests for proposals, complete bid evaluations, and recommend resources to clients.
  • Facilitate in the development and maintenance of project reporting, financial reporting, scheduling and compliance programs.
  • Ensure all functions remain on schedule and issues get resolved or raised.
  • Facilitate regular meetings to review design elements, technical shop drawings, submittals, and project status.  Develop and distribute meeting minutes, agendas and project status dashboards.
  • Collaborate to develop solutions and guide the project team through implementation and completion.
  • Apply advanced knowledge to seek and develop new, better methods for accomplishing both individual and department objectives.
  • Showcase expertise in own job subject area and in-depth knowledge of other job fields within the organization function.
  • Coach others to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise in most or all areas within the function.

What you’ll need

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8-10 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Prior experience working with industrial/utility/technology/commercial high-end major facility restoration and ground up construction projects.  Also, experience in projects related to dry labs, data centers, mission critical, heavy MEP, and demanding clients is strongly desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Procore, Bluebeam Revu or similar project management software or the ability to quickly become proficient is required.
  • Proven track record of leading multiple projects in varying stages simultaneously and the ability to deliver under pressure in fast-paced environments is preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills with an advanced inquisitive mentality.
  • This role will require someone who can work directly on a construction site in Western Suffolk County 5 days a week with some limited accommodations for remote work.

Turner & Townsend carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $140,000 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $180,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.  Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on Turner & Townsend’s applicable benefit program.
