As a CBRE Facility Building Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, with a priority focus on electrical and plumbing infrastructure of our hospital campus facility in Fort Worth, TX for our 1st shift. This role requires a proactive approach to preventative maintenance, strong troubleshooting capabilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient environment for clients and staff.
This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
What You’ll Do:- Perform comprehensive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a wide range of building systems, including mechanical, plumbing, electrical, structural, furniture, and control systems.
- Prioritize and execute maintenance activities with a strong emphasis on electrical and plumbing systems to ensure continuous and safe operation.
- Conduct routine plumbing maintenance tasks such as changing fixtures, unclogging drains, replacing faucets, and repairing leaks.
- Execute electrical maintenance, including troubleshooting issues, replacing ballasts, light bulbs, and light fixtures.
- Perform general maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, patching, and drywall repair as needed.
- Ensure all facility and building systems consistently meet or exceed applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
- Complete assigned work orders efficiently and accurately within established timelines.
- Promptly respond to emergency maintenance tickets to minimize disruptions and ensure safety.
- Implement and adhere to established preventative maintenance schedules to maximize system longevity and operational efficiency.
- Assist in the execution of a robust preventative maintenance program designed to extend the lifespan of building machinery and systems.
- Actively manage and monitor an energy management program, striving to ensure all systems operate in the most efficient manner possible.
- Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal codes, regulations, governmental agency directives, and company policies related to building operations and workplace safety.
- Adhere to departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.
- Review inspections of building systems, particularly electrical and plumbing, to verify equipment operation is within design specifications and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by the client.
- Serve as a client-facing representative, ensuring effective communication and professional interaction when addressing facility-related concerns.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
- Coach others and share in-depth knowledge of own job discipline and broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
- Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.

- High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 1-5 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Universal CFC certification is preferred. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions. Prior shift management or supervisory experience preferred.
- Prior experience in building maintenance specifically with electrical and plumbing systems.
- Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
- Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mindset.
- Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
