ABOUT THE ROLE
The DEM Electrician Technician/Project Engineer is a skilled electrical professional responsible for supporting the commissioning, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Digital Energy Metering (DEM) systems and related electrical infrastructure. This role applies strong technical proficiency, safety awareness, and a thorough understanding of electrical systems, codes, and operational processes to support reliable, compliant facility operations in alignment with CBRE policies.

As an advanced technical role, the DEM Electrician Technician/Project Engineer independently supports complex DEM systems and project execution, leads troubleshooting and commissioning efforts, and serves as a technical mentor and safety leader. The position contributes to system reliability, code compliance, and operational excellence through preventative and corrective maintenance, effective decision‑making, and supervision within their technical trade.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Digital Energy Meter installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
  • Perform corrective maintenance on energized and non‑energized electrical circuits.
  • Use electrical measurement tools (meters, testers) correctly and safely.
  • Understanding of NEC, WAC, electrical theory and local electrical codes.
  • Read and understand basic one‑line diagrams and circuit schematics.
  • Collect and maintain redline electrical schematics and documentation.
  • Support projects from conception through completion.
  • Project coordination and technical supervision.
  • Understanding of Building Automation Systems (BAS) integration related to metering.
  • Manage work orders using CMMS, including labor tracking and closeouts.
  • Accurately log work performed and communicate equipment deficiencies.
  • DEM preventative maintenance and data integrity checks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4 - 6 years of Electrical or job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered. 
  • BAS (Building Automation Systems) and BMS (Building Management Systems) experience 
  • Project Management Life Cycle experience
  • Electrician license preferred and/or Electrical Trainee (EL07 or EL01)

CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES 
Certification in two or more of the following: Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC and Refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry, or engine repair as well as CFC Certification.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES 
Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
Ability to analyze possible solutions using technical experience to apply appropriate judgment and precedents.
Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset. 
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the position is $95,000 annually and the maximum salary is $110,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
