About the Role
The CAD Designer applies strong working knowledge of drafting in AutoCAD or Revit to accurately update drawings and property management software for various clients. This position involves the administration of Record Facility Management information in various systems for the clients, including periodic and regular updates of database, audits, and integrity checks of facilities information, and miscellaneous administrative functions. including helpdesk and system support.
What You'll Do
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Become familiar with Port Tech’s core business and the services provided to our clients.
- Apply strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and client-specific CAD standards to drawings, including but not limited to the following disciplines: architectural, structural, furniture, electrical, mechanical, and security as they relate to corporate real estate drawing records.
- Use AutoCAD to maintain accurate data & drawing records in applicable computer-aided facility management (CAFM) systems.
- Provide support for property management software. Using correct grammar, spelling and tone while corresponding with tool users in order to troubleshoot issues, offer guidance and provide solutions. This support can be provided via e-mail, IM, video, and/or in person (as needed).
- Provide superior customer service with extreme attention to detail.
- Comply with and extend Quality Assurance procedures, including auditing records or a change control log to track work history.
- Contribute to Standard Operating Procedures playbook and documentation.
- With Port Tech support, acquire and maintain relevant certifications, training, skill development and maintain knowledge of current or emerging technologies within primary field or service area including:
- Become familiar with the capabilities and uses of Revit.
- Become familiar with client related tools and software.
- Become familiar with running client reports.
- Other duties and responsibilities that may be assigned to meet business needs could include:
- Data maintenance within spreadsheets, databases, etc.
- Contributing to presentations.
- Other technical-related subject-matter-expertise areas in which your knowledge can be used to assist a client.
- Associates Degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or at least 5 years of related drafting experience in a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience with AutoCAD is required.
- Experience with CAFM/IWMS administration is required.
- Excellent knowledge and ability to operate a computer using e-mail, spreadsheets, and either Google tools or Microsoft Office software
- Proficient use of AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of Revit preferred
