Job Summary: 

As a Senior Debt Advisory & Structured Finance Analyst at CBRE, you will analyze financial and market information to prepare detailed reports and comprehensive loan submission packages. This role requires a solid understanding of core commercial real estate finance principles, including valuation, market research, and investment analysis. Experience underwriting multifamily loans for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is strongly preferred but not mandatory.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for analyzing complex information to prepare various reports and loan submission packages. Proficient on understanding and using fundamental concepts, practices and procedures associated with commercial real estate finance, including commercial appraising, market analysis, and investment analysis.
  • Knowledge and understanding of commercial real estate lending transaction process. Assists producer(s) in day-to-day responsibilities which include packaging, lender due diligence, negotiation process, commitment process and closing process.
  • Gather complex data on local, regional, and national commercial real estate markets by researching a variety of sources including, but not limited to industry, regulatory and economic information, financial periodicals and newspapers, mortgage and lease documents, demographic data, property information and company records.
  • Organize, evaluates, interprets and summarizes complex data.
  • Prepare a variety of complex analysis, statements and reports for management review; arranges for preparation of graphics or illustrations to include with research findings.
  • Prepare and analyzes complex commercial mortgage finance, general business and industry conditions forecasts and trends.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and/or studies for producer(s) and/or management upon request.
  • Prepare loan submission reports for review by loan producers
  • Interface with clients, lenders, government agencies, etc., to complete tasks. May assist in business development opportunities.
  • Complete full underwriting process for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac including due diligence collection, property underwriting, site inspections, credit underwriting and closing process
  • Prepare internal and external collateral materials, proofreads content, ensures appropriate branding and prepares materials for distribution to Banks, Life Companies, Debt Funds, Mezz/Pref providers, and other lending sources
  • Work independently while also collaborating effectively with team members. Financing assignments vary in scope—from highly specific tasks to broad, multi-faceted projects—and often require originality, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex assignments such as portfolios, structured financing, various loan structures, and/or legal considerations.

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2-5 years of relevant experience. Real estate sales license and knowledge of ARGUS preferred. Working knowledge of fundamental real estate finance concepts including market and investment analysis. 
  • Salesperson or Real Estate Broker's license preferred but not required.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals and emails using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with colleagues and Lenders.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of financial/mortgage terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects while ensuring deadlines are met and work product is of excellent quality.
  • Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic and creative solutions to provide best outcome for clients and partners.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite products including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc. Knowledge of ARGUS not required, but preferred.
  • Decisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to department.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.
  • Ability to effectively present information and collaborate with large team and other CBRE partners.
