About the Role

Focus on a single line of business or work solely with large clients or uses specialized software to produce high quality of maps and demographic material. Has specialized and extensive training in one or more aspects of GIS technology. Produce results that are vital to the business unit. Responsible for managing and delivering end product.

What You’ll Do 

  • Provide enhancements to GIS products or data utilization.
  • In coordination with junior staff, design and implement GIS tools, templates, and software.
  • Create and specify mapping project tasks for development and production for both internal and external clients. 
  • Consult with internal clients to define project requirements. Investigate various approaches to achieve project objectives.
  • Oversee and create training specifications for GIS professionals in respective areas of expertise.
  • Evaluate data for strategic utilization. Determine data quality standards and defines application scope for data.
  • Evaluate mapping tools and processes to increase map production. Oversee the design and implementation of these tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provide informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May lead project teams and/or plan, and supervise assignments of lower level employees.

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with a major or minor in Geography or related field; or Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, with training in GIS technology. 
  • Requires 5 - 7 years of experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Adobe creative suite, CBRE Earth, proprietary online systems, other GIS related technologies at advanced skill levels.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the GIS Solutions Lead position is $90,000 annually and the maximum salary for the GIS Solutions Lead position is $110,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience.  Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
