About the Role:

As a CBRE Finance Director, you will be responsible for the development and management of all departmental finance functions for CBRE’s Advisory business in Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.

This job is part of the Financial Strategy and Operations job function, which is responsible for maintaining accounting, financial, and reporting policies and controls.

What You’ll Do:

  • Strengthen Financial Controls, Risk Governance & Financial/ Data integrity
  • Be a true Business partner enabling information and data to the Business Line leaders empowering them to make decisions.
  • Apply deep knowledge of multiple disciplines, broad industry knowledge, and commercial awareness. Drive financial and functional performance within disciplines and across business.
  • Drive Cost Optimization & Operational Efficiency. Conceptualize new methods, AI techniques, processes, and standards across job disciplines or functions.
  • Direct the resolution of highly complex or unusual business problems by applying advanced critical thinking.
  • Lead by example and model behaviours that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Negotiate with senior management, customers, and external parties of divergent interests to reach an agreement of strategic importance while being guided by the business segment and the organization's functional strategy.
  • Provide formal supervision to the finance team. Track the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
  • Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff. Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
  • Establish all departmental priorities to meet global/divisional/local/ statutory deadlines. Develop financial policies and procedures.
  • Assume board directorship responsibilities for various CBRE and CBRE related entities.
  • Be appointed as Corppass Registered Officer for various CBRE entities.
  • Point of contact for the Operations team to support initiatives within the business.
  • Review and approve capex projects under company approval guidelines.
  • Review and approve job requisitions under company approval guidelines.
  • Review and approve travel requests under company approval guidelines.
   

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 10-15 years of relevant experience managing a Finance team. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Experience in the areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention is preferred.
  • Ability to lead the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information, convey performance expectations, and handle problems.
  • Leadership skills to set, manage and achieve targets with a direct impact on multiple departments results within a function.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Expert organizational skills and an advanced inquisitive mindset.
  • Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
