About CBRE

Our Global Workplace Solutions division (GWS) is comprised of the best and brightest industry professionals, at the forefront of innovation, and highly invested in the development and unique needs of our diverse employees and global clients.

About the Role
As a CBRE Assistant Facilities Manager, you will operate as a key onsite facilities lead supporting a global technology client within a premium Auckland CBD corporate environment.

This is a hands-on, operationally focused role suited to a confident facilities professional who thrives working independently. You will take ownership of day-to-day building operations, vendor management, compliance, financial tracking, and stakeholder engagement — ensuring seamless service delivery and a high-performing workplace.

This role is ideal for someone ready to step up and operate with a high level of accountability, autonomy, and operational depth.

What You’ll Do
  • Take ownership of daily facilities operations, ensuring service delivery aligns with contractual obligations and client expectations.
  • Coordinate and manage maintenance activities by working closely with technicians, contractors, and service providers.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for operational facilities matters, proactively resolving issues and mitigating risk.
  • Build strong working relationships with client stakeholders and participate in operational meetings and reporting discussions.
  • Support preparation and monitoring of operating budgets, capital works, and variance reporting.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality assurance, compliance, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and implement operational efficiencies, cost-saving initiatives, and service improvements.
  • Manage environmental health and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with local regulations and corporate standards.
  • Oversee vendor performance, review quotations, and manage procurement and invoicing processes.
  • Apply sound technical and commercial judgement to resolve moderately complex operational challenges

What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 3–5+ years of facilities or building operations experience within a corporate or commercial environment. In lieu of a degree, relevant industry experience will be considered.
  • Valid driver’s licence required.
  • Facilities Management certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and manage competing priorities in a dynamic corporate environment.
  • Strong vendor management and contractor coordination experience.
  • Confident stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Sound financial acumen, including experience supporting budgets and interpreting financial reports.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
