The Role

Project Coordinator/CAD Technician (Intermediate Level)

As part of the team, you are a multitasker – this role involves both working as a project coordinator, assisting the department and/or project manager with scheduling locations for site measure, on occasion perform site measures, create/update drawings and related data on a Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) platform. 

You will have working knowledge and are able to read and/or markup differing drawing types (architectural, reflected ceiling plan, electrical, etc). You will be skilled in utilizing AutoCAD (intermediate level), preferably with current versions of the software.   In commercial environments, you must be capable of drafting clear markups that incorporates site detail, field notes, and must be able to comprehend, interpret, and render verbal inputs from the field teams as required.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Site measurement scheduling, at client locations, for both Vendors and CBRE staff
  • Vendor management/coordination
  • Occasional requirement to perform site measurements
  • Creation and maintenance of drawings (architectural, electrical, RCP, fire, life safety, furniture and mechanical), and related Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) work
  • Knowledge of BOMA standards
  • Support Quality Control reviews
  • Perform/assist quantity takeoffs based on drawing information
  • Support of new program initiatives
  • Seek continuous process improvement opportunities
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Graduate of a CAD drafting technician or technology program (preference is for civil, Architectural or electrical engineering technologist) and/or a combination of work experience and education
  • 4-5 years on the job experience as a CAD Technician / Designer
  • 1-2 years on the job experience as a Project Coordinator
  • Good understanding of how to read various types of drawings (architectural, electrical, RCP, fire, life safety, furniture and mechanical)
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work on tasks concurrently
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • A valid Ontario driver’s license

NOTE:  This role is considered essential services and is temporarily remote work due to COVID – any required travel will be local, no over-night stays.
