In line with the continued growth and expansion of our business throughout Asia Pacific, we have an exciting opportunity for an External Communications Manager, Asia Advisory to join our team. This person will involve providing support for external communications, including PR, client communications, media engagement and story pitching, interview preparation, press release writing/editing, the preparation of award submissions, issues/crisis management, positioning Research/Thought Leadership, among other things.

  • Assist in writing, editing and disseminating press releases to enhance CBRE’s external media profile. 
  • Track CBRE’s media presence relative to competitors in standard global reporting format; provide Asia press highlights for global report on a weekly basis 
  • Liaise with key journalists; coordinate and prepare spokespeople for media interviews; pitch and promote our thought leadership and other Research content with the media
  • Assist in the preparation of award submissions; source new award opportunities
  • Develop press releases to announce key milestones, awards, strategic new hires, etc.
  • Manage in-bound media inquiries, including response to issues/crises within the business
  • Coordinate closely with Internal Comms Lead for Asia Advisory, global Corp Comm team, Pacific Advisory Comms Director and, as needed, Comms team for other business segments (GWS, REI) 

Required Knowledge & Skills:
  • At least five years’ experience in Corporate Communications, Media or related field
  • Strong writing and story development/media pitching skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a regional and global team with the capacity to work cooperatively and in partnership with peers, and provide team leadership support when required
  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to manage workflow and priorities and meet deadlines
  • Preferred experience writing for B2B social media 
  • An ability to work with and build effective relationships with a variety of personalities and all levels of seniority across the business
  • Sound decision-making capabilities, demonstrating an ability to create compelling recommendations
  • Degree in relevant field of study required
