Job Title: Surveyor to Director – National Valuation Team
Location: UK based, reporting into London team.

Role Purpose
This is a newly created role to assist in the valuation of Life Science properties.  With the burgeoning demand from investors to seek & acquire buildings within the Life Science sector, or that can be repurposed to fulfil Life Science occupier requirements, we are looking to add another dedicated member to the Life Science valuation team at CBRE.

This will be a key appointment to the National Valuation Team and the role will demand a focus on the Life Science sector.  The role does not require any prior Life Science knowledge or expertise (albeit those would be beneficial), but what it will require is a dedication to learn and expose yourself to an exciting and up & coming sector.

The role also offers client exposure and will provide significant responsibility, together with excellent career prospects. 
We provide valuation advice for secured lending purposes, acquisition due diligence support, and quarterly valuations on behalf of REITS and property companies already invested in the sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide industry leading valuation advice with a focus on Life Science assets across the UK. Co-ordination with regional and international colleagues to guarantee the best possible service is delivered.
  • Providing advice on behalf of lenders, and investors of Investment valuations and development appraisals for a mixture of accounting, loan security, general advisory and acquisition purposes.
  • Client liaison and assisting with the development of new and existing client relationships.
  • To integrate with the wider CBRE network and other business lines such as Capital Markets and Agency teams.
  • To support an expanding team in its business development objectives and continued revenue growth.
Person Specification
  • MRICS or equivalent.
  • The successful candidate will be part of a market leading team with a focus on specialising in the valuation of Life Science assets for occupiers, investors and lenders.
  • Logical thought process and ability to analyse data effectively.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, enjoying working in a team with demanding clients. Has the ability to be creative and proactive in identifying, sourcing and pursuing new leads and opportunities.
  • Maintains a positive attitude towards routine tasks.
  • Understands the importance of using discretion.
  • Team player who deals effectively with colleagues and clients and enjoys working as part of a team, but is also able to operate autonomously in an efficient and productive manner.

Skill Requirements
  • Good IT skills in particular Word and Excel, as well as a detailed knowledge of Argus Enterprise and Developer Software.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Accurate and with exceptional attention to detail, especially when writing in-depth valuation reports and reviewing detailed due diligence.
  • Excellent communication skills enabling the development of good relationships with both clients and colleagues.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Organisation and personal time management skills are required with the ability meet strict deadlines and work in a fast paced environment.
