CBRE Handyman will ensure exceptional day to day operation of handyman duties are provided to our client. This role will be providing facilities management advice with a focus on customer service & client relationship management, occupier interaction, healthy & safety and security of all visitors & occupants.

They will be responsible for carrying out day-to-day operation of reactive and proactive handyman duties & be positive & effective contributors to our technical and event teams, warranting an effective & efficient operation of the facility services. 

This role will include the supervision of sub-contractors for statutory or best practice maintenance and where applicable self-delivery of preventative maintenance, reactive tasks, small installation tasks and/or handyman duties in accordance with agreed service levels. 

The handyman will be a team member that positively contributes to a proactive, accountable, confident and energetic team to deliver exceptional service to the client. They will have strong communication skills and be able to manage the positive relationships with the Client Facility Manager, the Landlord, client staff and contractors/agents on site.

Capability
  • Ensure that comprehensive maintenance records are kept in the form of ‘Frontline’ task sheets
  • Maintain on-site based compliance documentation & providing assistance with essential services co-ordination as required.
  • Ensure accurate records of work and, labour and materials are maintained, and provide management data as needed
Culture
  • To actively participate as part of the CBRE Account Team in the achievement of the overall objectives for the management of the properties
  • Ensure that Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared for all tasks carried out to ensure safe working practices
  • Knowledgeable about Risk Management Program 
  • Assist to maintain a registry for each area of Risk Management 
  • Manage vendors to ensure performance aligns with agreed upon services per contract

Organization/Operational/Governance
  • Meet deadlines & prescribed reporting requirements in a timely manner
  • Complete reactive repair tasks as assigned 
  • Inspect/repair floor, walls and ceilings coverings 
  • Inspect/repair free standing and fitted furniture
  • Inspect/ clear drainage and gully systems
  • Ensure luminaries meet contract requirements 
  • Inspect/repair doors, windows and associated furniture
  • Painting & redecorating 
  • Assist engineering staff in a wide range of duties as required 
  • General site services; to include, sweeping and tidying of plant rooms
  • Ensure that engineering subcontractors are appropriately supervised, and comply with contractual commitments and site operating processes 
  • Ensure that all activities are undertaken in a safe manner and a culture of working safety exists within the operational contract
  • Assist with maintaining emergency procedures manuals and implement training liasing with Base building as necessary 
  • Notify relevant Escalation Chart lines and the Client Facilities Manager of any incident or other event at the Property that may give rise to a claim for damages and follow the CBRE/the Client incident reporting process 
  • Ensure that suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the above plant 
  • Strong focus on day-to-day operations of the properties
  • Confirm the correct plant operations, and to identify and address any operational aspects that require attention 
  • Ensure emergencies, breakdowns and unforeseen work request are responded to an properly addressed in accordance with agreed service levels
Experience
  • Environmental & Sustainability knowledge and experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Facilities Management 
  • Has experience in handling client matters with the experience to escalate or give first-hand advice
  • Positive communication skills enabling experience and knowledge to be communicated within the team and to the client
