We are seeking a highly motivated individual to strategically manage our own corporate real estate function. The Global Leader, Corporate Real Estate will manage a team with a wide range of responsibilities including real estate portfolio management, workplace and occupancy strategy, design and construction, and facilities’ transition/readiness across 500 offices and 6+ million square feet worldwide.


The ideal candidate will be exceptional at “bringing the entire firm” to the management of our portfolio and leveraging our market verified best practices to optimize our portfolio in a highly cost-efficient manner.  This role will collaborate with key disciplines across the organization to ensure that we create employee environments that enable us to attract, develop and maintain talent.  As the global real estate leader for CBRE, this role will partner closely with CBRE’s Chief Responsibility Officer to achieve our sustainability goals within our own footprint.


Specific Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include oversight of all global real estate activity relating to the acquisition and management of real estate relating to all business requirements of CBRE Corporate Real Estate including the following duties:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive three-year real estate management strategy for the firm’s changing real estate portfolio, partnering closely with senior leaders and stakeholders to align the real estate strategy with business development plans.
  • Work with CBRE leadership to design, develop and implement global standards for the workplace, based on remote work experiences gathered during the pandemic and incorporating agile spaces into our portfolio strategy.
  • Partner with CBRE brokerage professionals to execute real estate leases (or other transactions) in alignment with future business needs and growth.
  • Lead the award-winning Workplace360 program; CBRE’s cutting-edge approach to workplace strategy designed to transform 90+ offices into technology-enabled, flexible, and amenity-driven work environments centered around the employee experience.
  • Be responsible for the CBRE’s workplace-associated capital plan; approving leases, design & construction, and reconfiguration covering its global portfolio of offices for CBRE and its wholly-owned subsidiaries
  • Create the vision and strategies to guide the corporate real estate function in response to industry best practices, trends (e.g., Future of Work), and the firm’s ever-changing needs.
  • Develop and implement a holistic end-to-end occupancy experience for employees and visitors at CBRE’s corporate offices in collaboration with our Digital & Technology Organization, People Team, Marketing and Communications.
  • Implement green lease best practices to maximize opportunities for energy efficiency, renewable energy procurement, submetering and cost savings.
  • Advance CBRE’s internal sustainability practices through implementing recycling and composting programs in all CBRE offices, reducing the company’s use of single use plastics, etc.
  • Support the company’s aspiration to have every office larger than 10,000 square feet receive at least one green building (LEED, BREEAM, etc) and one healthy building (WELL, Fitwel) certification. 


  • Perform due-diligence review and analyses of real estate involved in merger and acquisition efforts.
  • Prepare and present business case proposals for senior leadership review and approval.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends in commercial real estate, regulations, technologies, techniques and approaches in space planning and allocation
  • Coordinate selection and supervision of architects, engineers, planning and design consultants, project managers, construction managers, inspectors, and/or other applicable professionals
  • Manage financial performance and reporting, operational and capital budgets, tracking and schedule management for all aspects of transactions and projects.
  • Identify opportunities to create standard operating procedures across global portfolio which optimize operations, reduce costs, and insure a consistent delivery experience.
  • Strategically source workplace services and amenities for quality, cost, and effectiveness.
  • Manage and develop a team of about 15 direct and indirect reports.



  • Extensive working knowledge of real estate functions and ability to think strategically in order to advise management at the local, regional, national and global levels.
  • Able to evaluate micro and macroeconomic trends in the real estate markets to identify alternative strategies and advise customers as to the costs/benefits of each. 
  • Ability to oversee due diligence for site selection, financial projections on a P&L and cash basis and prepare supporting documents to obtain appropriate levels of approval.
  • Clear understanding of CBRE enterprise and familiarity with matrixed business units to understand how operating companies and business units collaborate. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a broad group of stakeholders in order to foster trust and influence key decisions.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging CBRE proprietary tools and technology solutions; Demonstrated experience working with CBRE Advisory & Transactions and Project Management practices.
  • Demonstrates a proven track record of customer service and the ability to discuss strategy with management, translate objectives into feasible actions plans, and ensure successful project execution.
  • Assumes ownership and is accountable for leading and implementing each project initiative, the success of which depends on mobilizing both internal service providers and outsourced vendors to meet real estate objectives.
  • Exceptional communication skills; ability to create an atmosphere in which timely information flows smoothly through the organization. Skillful negotiator in difficult and nuanced situations and able to sell ideas persuasively; ability to be direct but diplomatic.
  • Ability to orchestrate systemic change – initiate, support, and manage change within the organization, taking steps to remove barriers or to accelerate its pace.


  • Bachelor’s degree required. Post-graduate degree or professional designations (such as PMP, MCR, or MBA) preferred.
  • 10-15 years’ experience in related corporate real estate fields, including transactions, project management, and/or facilities management.
  • Experience with the preparation and implementation of short- and long-term capital and operating budgets.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions.
  • Demonstrated customer service qualities and cost management mindset.
  • Experience managing and mentoring a team of real estate professionals.
  • Contract negotiation skills and contract management experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proven vision, leadership, and critical thinking skills to prioritize evolving initiatives in a fast-paced environment; ability to translate ideas and capabilities into effective initiatives that exceed customer expectations.
  • Prior experience in the design/construction and opening of new office space, the relocation and moving of company personnel, and the decommissioning of vacated office space.
