Purpose of the job
To support the sustainable growth of the GWS Local UK business group, enabling world-class operational delivery through:
1. Delivery of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) programmes, as directed.
2. Provision of support to the QHSE Director -Local UK.
3. Provision of focussed support and coaching to Divisional QHSE Directors and QHSE Leads for specific activity, such as bids, mobilisations or improvement programmes.

Key responsibilities
1. Continuing work to develop the GWS QHSE Maturity Matrix, championing its adoption throughout the Local UK business group.
2. Reviewing divisional ‘QHSE Plan’ progress to ensure the effectiveness and value of the programme.
3. Leading on the development of QHSE aspects of culture change programmes and supporting delivery across the business group.
4. Developing and actively participating in audit and assurance programmes
5. Developing the GWS Human Factors offering and championing adoption through the business group in line with the GWS Maturity Matrix.
6. Leading the development of the UK core QHSE training offering.
7. Helping to develop a ‘learning culture’ by leading cross divisional initiatives and programmes and facilitating and encouraging sharing of information.
8. Assisting in the preparation of periodic QHSE reports and reviews for key stakeholders, using established systems and metrics.
9. Supporting the QHSE aspects of new business activity through solution development, participation in presentations and consultations meetings, coaching of bid teams and developments of guides and collateral.
10. Developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers through networking and collaboration events.
11. Developing the QHSE management system, ensuring it is effective in supporting the needs of the Local UK business group.
12. Providing support to each division through coaching, training, guiding on techniques, processes and ways of working.
13. Driving cross-divisional collaboration in QHSE Risk Champion and Wellbeing Champion activity.
14. Supporting the roll-out and adoption of QHSE Systems and Platforms.
15. Maintaining a register of external certifications, subscriptions and accreditations schemes (excluding ISO) and ensuring timely submissions in order to maintain status. 
16. Supporting the identification and development of QHSE talent, both internally and externally.
17. Staying abreast of legislation changes, industry trends and best practices and ensuring communication into the business.
18. Any other duties as may be reasonable expected in order to meet the purpose of the role.

3. Wider GWS QHSE Teams as required

1. A degree of travel across the UK is to be expected as part of the role, including spending time away from home for short periods of time (typically 1 to 2 nights at a time).
