Senior Director, Head of Investment Accounting EMEA


Purpose of the role

Are you an experienced accounting director looking for a challenge? We are looking for a highly motivated accounting director to build and manage a pan-European real estate accounting team in 15 countries. We are targeting to create a strong team, capable of delivering high-quality accounting services to our global clients in a cost-effective way by leveraging on technology and innovation.


Job description
  • Responsible for performance, staffing and strategy of the EMEA investment accounting function consisting of an EMEA-wide team of around 100 people, delivering accounting services to internal and external clients
  • Build the accounting function within CBRE IA&R, in collaboration with internal and external experts, for countries where the capability is not yet in place,
  • Design and implement standardized service delivery model across EMEA, both locally and in partnership with shared service center
  • Design and implement a pricing model for the accounting services
  • Ensure adequate controls are put in place for inclusion of accounting into the SOC1 framework
  • As a member of the EMEA Management Team contribute to strategic leadership of the organization
  • Participate in business development
  • Drive buy-in throughout the organization by face to face as well as online communication and events

Candidate profile
  • 15+ years of experience in accounting and in leading international teams
  • Registered accountant in any European market
  • Real estate knowledge is valued highly, but it is not a requirement
  • Strong social acumen
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Experience with implementing pan-European projects
  • Technology savvy, knowledge of large ERP systems
  • Involvement with shared service centers
