Purpose of the Job

To support the shift leader and Shift technician in carrying out all statutory and non-statutory PPM’s

across site within capabilities including completion of all associated documentation required to

maintain compliance. The reporting of failures / noncompliance and the implementation of agreed

solutions. To also complete reactive tasks and daily checks / readings as required in accordance with

agreed service levels.

Key Responsibilities

Including but not limited to:

To support the shift team in provision of service.

Day to Day involvement with Building Management System.

Undertake and maintain day to day PPM records.

Undertake general housekeeping duties.

To instil best working practices.

Maintain compliance to all QHSE policies in all areas.

To support colleagues, ensuring their motivation and commitment to the client,

contract and company.

Take a proactive approach to resolve all day to day problems.

Monitor and review permits and working practices on all maintenance activities

To review and fully understand all emergency procedures.

Interface with tenants and clients at all levels.

Integrate fully with all different CBRE departments to ensure seamless delivery of

services such as project teams etc.

Understand and demonstrate the CBRE Rise Values.

Candidates will be time served and have relevant experience in the role..

Applicants are expected to have several years prior experience some of which will

have been in a similar role and have good customer skills.

It is essential staff are self-motivated and promote a “Can do” customer attitude at all

times.

Having flexible attitude with a “can do” approach and who is prepared to work outside

their skill base and hours when required to provide a customer-based service.

Be prepared to undertake training as required by the post and the Engineering

Manager.

Having administration skills to maintain computer based and hardcopy systems for

statutory inspection and test.

Be able to react and work on their own initiative when it comes to reactive tasks.

Operate all systems within the building in a competent, effective and efficient manner,

adhering to guideline, bulletins and SOP’s as required.

Ensure that service providers work sheets are signed off, quality of works are

inspected, and any recommendations are escalated

Responsible for critical equipment that serves critical areas for the client such as Data

Centres and SER’s.

Responsible for escalation of all incidents and writing of incident reports ensuring the

approved escalation procedure is adhered to.

Planning including prioritization of tasks from PPM’s and help desk requests.

Reacting to break downs and change in priorities. Extending jobs when required if

SLA’s cannot be achieved.

To backfill for the Shift Tech or Shift Leader as required for leave / sick.

Sourcing and vetting quotations if required.

Vetting safe system paperwork and issuing Permits and Authority to work as

appropriate

Work issuing as required.

Progress control and quality control.

Safe system and work control system closeout.

Proven experience as a day engineer in building services within prestigious

environment.

Accountabilities

Accountable to the Shift Leader and Engineering Manager.

The post holder does not have any directly reporting staff.

This post carries no budgetary responsibility.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

Education

A good basic education is essential, with good written and spoken

English and basic Mathematics skills.

Training

[Essential] City and Guilds trade qualification / suitable experience for the role

[Desirable] Someone who has already undertaking Electrical / Mechanical

training.

Experience

[Essential] Must have team working experience and excels at motivation of

small teams under substantial pressure. Must have the ability to think

clearly in extreme circumstances / under pressure.

Proven experience as a day engineer in building services within

prestigious environment.

Has worked a continental shift pattern or similar in a previous role.

Aptitudes Good verbal communication skills

Organised and with good written English skills

Ability to learn, and develop both technical knowledge, and

understanding or local organisational systems and processes.

Character Committed to the delivery of excellent customer service.

Calm manner, able to work under pressure.

Able to make sound decisions when needed.

Physically fit and able to carry tools and components by hand up to

20kg.

Able to ascend and descend vertical access equipment.

Able to work at heights and on roofs.

A team player, able to work with CBRE and clients staff of all levels.

 

Circumstances

Able to work shifts which will include nights, weekend and bank

holiday working.

Able to attend the site location within one hour of notification to

participate in out-of-hours rostered stand-by and call-out procedures
