We're are looking for 2 Data Center Space- Hardware Planners, for our client based in Luxembourg (Windhof and Kayl)

Purpose of Job

The Space/Hardware Planner is responsible for the day-to-day support of the raised floor environment mainly for all installation and removal of hardware assets to satisfy customer requirements. The Space/Hardware planner will perform all tasks from the initial customer ticket request until the finalised testing/removal has been completed and the planning ticket is closed successfully and handed over to operational support.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assess / monitor infrastructure capacity support for Data Centre power and cooling elements.
  • Provide input on Data Centre capacity requirements.
  • Review / Validate space/power/cooling/connectivity/weight sizing requirements for new engagements and growth on existing customers and internal relocations (as per onsite Space/Hardware planning processes).
  • Plan power requirements, connections, and redundancy based to ensure effective power load balancing.
  • Participate in the planning for Cage and Cabinet Security Infrastructure (Locking Options) / (If or When Applicable)
  • Manage Power and Cooling densities with associated technology software application.
  • Create and Distribute PDU Panel Schedules
  • Determine location of all new floor mounted hardware on the raised floor and calculate amount of square footage required/used for customer’s equipment.
  • Participate in prioritisation of power installs/de-installs to consider escalations and customer schedules and align with resource availability.
  • Print and Install power circuit labels on (devices, cabinets).
  • Monitor activities, operation, and usage within the Data Centre to always insure the use of proper IT disciplines and regulation compliance.
  • Coordinate cable mining of equipment and power cables that are no longer needed above/below the raised floor (if or when required)
  • Participate in power design changes to address changes in the data centre infrastructure.
  • Participate in on-site Tours and Raised Floor Briefings.
  • Develop/Maintain floor layouts and 3D inventory/Power Connection Mapping for new/existing customer environments.
  • Provide costing, quotations, proposals for all Space/Hardware planning activities.
  • Confident speaking to both customers and senior management directly and to describe complicated technical issues in simplistic terms to explain a potential service affecting situation clear and concisely.
  • Attend service, incident, project meetings if required to do so and to provide input if any is warranted upon the agreement of onsite CBRE management.
  • Assist or create/provide technology/project related reports upon request.
  • Ensure the stock thresholds are not breached and escalate to the Technology Operations Manager to arrange for stock to be replenished.
  • Ensure that Internal CBRE processes and policies are read, understood, always followed, and adhered to.
  • Ensure that all relevant site rules, standards, processes, and procedures are read, understood, and followed.
  • Assist the onsite Contract Manager with the review and updating of any operational compliance documentation to ensure that it is current and relevant.
  • Make sure all work completed is carried out to the accepted and expected site standards.
  • Always promote a positive image of CBRE.
  • Ensure that if any issues occur on-site, which could be detrimental or result in potential failure to adhere to our SLA’s or KPI’s is reported to the onsite Contract Manager immediately.
  • Escalate any issues or concerns relating to the data halls to the onsite Contract Manager.
  • Ensure that health and safety requirements are met and that any concerns or incidents are escalated appropriated and document any accidents that occur in the site accident book.
  • Ensure that e-mails and ticket queues are checked regularly and actioned where necessary and completed.
  • Ensure CRQ’s and permits are in place and have relevant approval prior work commencing on the associated task, notify the onsite Contract Manager if any discrepancies arise.
  • Keep the workshop area and all relevant storerooms clean and tidy and ensure that the related stock spreadsheets are up to date.
  • Ensure that the onsite Contract Manager is advised of any hardware discrepancies you find within the data racks.
  • Provide vendor assistance (incl. escorting) when replacement parts or other external services are required to assist with an incident/fault on any of the supported sites when required.
  • Assist with data input to the customer systems support tools as or when requested by the onsite Contract Manager
  • Ensure that the onsite Contract Manager is informed of installation/other technology related project related delays etc.
  • To perform any other duties within your skillset as delegated by the onsite Contract Manager.
  • Ensure awareness and compliance with the contractual KPI's/SLA's are always undertaken.
  • Must be flexible as day/night shift work could be required as well as weekends and bank holidays in relation to ongoing space/hardware planning project works.
  • Physically able to lift boxes/devices up to 25Kg.
  • Must be able to arrive on any of the CBRE Customer supported sites upon the agreed starting time.
  • Must be willing to travel to any CBRE customer supported site to provide technology support if/when required.
Accountabilities
  • Directly accountable to the onsite Contract Manager
  • The post holder has no direct reports.
  • This post carries no direct budgetary responsibility, but financial awareness is required when replacing parts, using consumables, creating quotations, proposals.
Profil
  • Minimum of 3 years working in technology data centre environments (Colo or Enterprise).
  • Good understanding of cabling (copper and fibre) infrastructure and industry best practices.
  • Good knowledge/understanding of servers, networking hardware components and their functions.
  • Good knowledge of French and English
  • Good understanding of Data Centre environments and having an overview of Power, Cooling, Space Awareness and Connectivity.
  • Valid in-country driving licence.
  • To have own method of transportation.
  • Industry recognised Data Centre certification (CDCDP, CDCMP or CNCI) or equivalent.
