The purpose of this position is to serve as the primary client contact for Facilities Management and Workplace Experience and hold full accountability for delivery of these services across a mixed portfolio of office, research and development, manufacturing and transitory storage. Some locations are in high density areas while others are in more rural areas. Some locations operate on a 24/7 basis and others operate 5 days a week.
The Global Facilities Services Lead is responsible for the delivery of all aspects of the agreed scope of services across all existing locations in the US and any expansion sites as they occur. The role is supported by and involves managing several operational service line and regional leaders who will execute and oversee service delivery within their respective areas and/or regions.

The Global Facilities Services Lead is responsible for the relationship, customer satisfaction and service delivery both contractual and performance provided to the Global Facilities client. This role is crucial in building and maintaining the relationship serving as liaison for CBRE to our Global Facilities client. This individual is a strategic, creative, self-driven and organized professional who takes pride in seeing operations run smoothly and efficiently, ensuring welcoming, safe, secure and tidy facilities for users and visitors and delivering best practices and exceeding client expectations.  This individual enjoys building operations, processes and teams from the ground up, can shift gears comfortably as the client organization grows and evolves, can decide and act without having the total picture, isn't upset when things are up in the air and can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.


The essential duties of the Global Facilities Services Lead include but are not limited to:

• Directs facility management including HSE, MAC, CMMS & Call Center, and workplace experience, including reception & events CBRE team staff to ensure that all contractual, operational & statutory commitments prescribed in the SOW are met and/or exceeded and adhere to client’s budget, Code of Conduct and other policies and its fast-moving entrepreneurial culture

• Delivers services based on contract SOW with full understanding of the scope variances by site (e.g., client provided, 3rd party, self-perform, etc.) and drives operational control through metrics/KPI management including Customer and Employee Satisfaction

• Oversees vendor performance across the portfolio ensuring all contractual, financial, quality & service delivery standards are met and/or exceeded

• Oversees implementation of facility management and workplace experience services to client’s new sites and expanding sites

• Acts as the key point of contact for operational matters, leading the team and developing positive relationships with the client to enhance CBRE’s value of the services delivered; resolves problems and/or conflicts and maintains open communication with the clients including providing regular written and verbal reports to ensure satisfaction

• Manages client relationships and works with the client’s Head of Global Workplace Services and leaders as well as the different sites’ representatives, and the sites’ department heads through frequent alignment sessions to assure excellent service delivery to client’s sites and departments

• Provides leadership, guidance, advice, coaching and direct support to drive team performance, from recruitment and selection through to coaching, mentoring, development, and recognition/reward

• Ensures optimum staffing structures operate across the portfolio in accordance with client’s strategic plans, gearing ratios and budget, within the boundaries of the contract, leveraging portfolio metrics and actual results and balancing cost control with the delivery of service excellence; ensures contingency plans are in place for emergencies including approved business continuity plans, disaster recovery plans etc.

• Assists in creating and reviews capital project and operating budget reports for all portfolio properties and potential expansion sites and creates action plans to ensure operations and cost efficiency; ensures that mechanisms are in place to support peaks and troughs in workload, staffing, disaster recovery and the sharing of expertise

• Reviews and manages contract documents, supported by the Alliance Director, to ensure consistency and adherence with client master contract and CBRE’s corporate standards (including insurance requirements and price standards); manages negotiations for contract services as needed

• Initiates and drives operational innovation and optimization projects

• Remains informed about developments within the Facilities Management and Workplace Experience fields and networked with in-company subject matter experts to bring world class solutions to bear for the client

• Performs other duties as may be assigned


The Global Facilities Lead drives a safety and wellness culture and manages the effective implementation of Health, Safety, Wellness & Environmental policies and procedures to minimize the risk exposure to the client and CBRE employees. Such responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Adheres to all safety policies and maintains the work environment, practices and training of staff to avoid accidents and hazards contributing to a safe and healthy work environment

• Ensures implementation of CBRE Job Safety Analysis and risk assessment, toolbox talks and Safety Before Service and other safety activities are held with the team on a consistent, recurring basis

• Conducts incident reviews and Root Cause Analysis, Site Stand Downs and drives consequence management for all safety incidents

• Ensures there is a primary HSE contact for the team and onsite contractors for all kinds of safety related matters

• Performs other safety and wellness related duties as requested


Manages the planning, organization, and controls for a major functional area. Is responsible for a mix of direct and matrix reports. Reviews and approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Monitors appropriate staffing levels and reports on utilization and deployment of human resources. Leads and supports staff in areas of staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising and rewarding performance and retention. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's RISE values and client’s Code of Conduct.

Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of eight years of related facilities management leadership experience and/or training. Prior supervisory experience required.


Facility Management certification preferred. Driver's license may be required.


Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action. Ability to utilize Google docs and Google sheets a plus.


Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles. Reviews complex financial/business analysis and reports prepared by subordinates. Ability to analyze complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions. Develops and implements financial policies and procedures. Approves and oversees department budget.


Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based agile client environment with disparate asset types. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the value CBRE provides to the client.


Strong safety record. Proven leadership skills and employee satisfaction skills. Proven client satisfaction skills; must be able to be a trusted advisor to client(s). Ability to use intranet/internet, work order system, develop spreadsheets, write playbooks, emails and notifications. Working knowledge of architectural, electrical, and mechanical systems. Intermediate skills with Google docs, Google sheets preferred. Working knowledge of facility and supplier contracts and related documents.


Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve complex results. Responsible for setting project, department and/or division deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to line of business and/or overall company.

• CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Sr. Director position is $200,000 annually [or $96.15 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Sr. Director position is $230,000 annually [or $110.57per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
