As our new (Senior) Director, you will ideally be based in either our Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid or Zürich office, but we also consider other locations in Continental Europe. 

You will be responsible to lead, develop and deliver a growth strategy and plans for the Life Sciences sector by positioning CBRE as the recognised sector expert, offering clients a truly differentiated real estate advisory service. In addition, you will drive the connectivity across CBRE’s service lines, account teams and geographies, collaborating with key stakeholders and partners to achieve these growth objectives across Continental Europe (CE).

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a specialist within the Life Sciences industry that understands the current state and main trends within the sector, and knows how these trends will impact the real estate requirements in the industry. In this position you need to have the network and skillset to discuss and consult on strategic challenges at a C-suite level. 

Your main responsibilities will be:
  • Develop plans for growth, segmentation and define key pursuits (both for multi-year contracts and strategic one-off projects);
  • Identify key enablers for growth;
  • Participate in the leadership team within the sector vertical;
  • Deliver sector insights to wider market facing CBRE teams;
  • Help to develop core elements for CBRE`s differentiation in the sector;
  • Work with service line leaders to ensure we develop sector focused products and solutions;
  • Develop internal and external marketing plans;
  • Deliver sector-specific thought leadership;
  • Manage and report new business pipeline;
  • Personally lead key the cultivation and conversion of sales opportunities and client engagements.

The KPI for this position will be measured on CBRE revenue growth in the sector. We focus on the companies that shape the future of the industry, whether they be the large incumbent companies or the fastest growing disruptors. You will be expected to be able to engage with these companies in all the major markets in Continental Europe.

You will be a senior in the team driving the sector growth in Continental Europe working closely with in-country resources, account managers, senior leadership in Europe and the Regional Life Sciences Sector lead. 

You will work in a matrix managed organization where you are part of the Life Sciences team. This matrix is also reflected in your reporting line: you will report to the Regional Sector lead – Life Sciences (solid line) and to the Head of Occupier Services, Continental Europe (dotted line). This could vary given the seniority you have.

What will you bring? 

  • You have at least 5 years (or more) experience in the Life Sciences industry or advisor to the sector;
  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a relevant field;
  • You can communicate clearly, work practically, and do hard things well with speed and urgency;     
  • You have exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence and inspire your team and peer groups both verbally and in writing;
  • You have experience in collaborating and working cross functionally in a highly matrixed organization.
