The Senior Business Analyst position for the CBRE group acts as a project and technical lead for business intelligence and data governance projects focused on real estate data analyses for CBRE’s clients. Through data visualization and examination, this position helps our client optimize their operations across all service lines: facilities management, project management, finance, portfolio administration, security ops, etc.


The senior analyst works closely with our clients and business-unit leaders to perform data governance ensuring that data is accurate and complete, aggregate and standardize the information into data models, and develop Tableau dashboards that leverage the data to generate meaningful client insights. 


The ideal candidate possesses a broad skill set. Required skills include strong technical capabilities with data manipulation and data modeling; advanced Tableau knowledge; project management experience; knowledge of data governance standards, and strong client-facing communications


·        Create, maintain and optimize creative data visualizations and dashboards (primarily in Tableau) to derive actionable intelligence.

·        Designs, generates, reviews and understands reports. Uses aggregate data from multiple sources to create a complete analysis, improvement and/or recommendation(s)

·        Prepares and presents results of analysis and reports along with their relative impact(s) to the client and internal leaders at all levels of management.

·        Aggregation and analysis of quantitative data; forecast and trending of performance data.

·        Process improvements through automation and predictive analytics.

·        Responds to client requests with recommendations based on data interpretations.

·        Provide subject matter expertise on data-related processes and for tools such as Tableau, SQL, Cognos Analytics and Microsoft PowerQuery.

·        Take on ownership for data governance efforts for the Canada and Caribbean region


No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May lead project teams plan and supervise assignments of lower level employees.


Minimum of 4 years of experience. Advanced degree such as MSs or MBA not required but preferred.




Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.


·        Excellent data management, manipulation, and analysis skills.

·        Ability to create integrated data models from disparate sources.

·        Advanced Tableau or Cognos Analytics skills are required

·        Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint are required

·        Knowledge of SQL and ideally PostgreSQL is required

·        Nice-to-haves: experience with Power Platform, Smartsheet; the ability to setup APIs for data pulls

·        Fluency in French and/or Spanish desirable but not required


Requires intermediate knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts and variances


Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex data sets. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.
